October 16, 201213 yr Hi, I would like to see the distant visibility issue fixed for the next big update. I'm not an expert on Macs but it is known that Windows have an edge over OSX regarding memory management for XP10, so I'm just guessing that in order to have a unified XP10 ecosystem due to that limitation this problem is not fully addressed, perhaps 64 bits would break those limitations and we could have a great distant visibility rendition, remember I'm not an expert on this, but that would be great. What would you like to see improved in 10.20? Cheers, Alexander Colka

October 16, 201213 yr - Fog / Haze / Mist - Possibility to set cloud thickness bellow 1000' - Setting of winds aloft, both manually and using Real World Weather - Thermals affected by the wind - Possibility to set dewpoint, and making air density also vary with relative humidity - In Map view, viewing more than just the current tile, which is really bad to plan your VFR flights ore even IFR, using the Map view, or simply check your progress through it... - Correct lighting for the time of day, latitude and date. Correct Moon phases. - Better landclass / autogen - if I can call it so... - Better shorelines, not so abrupt - Better performance when OSM used on dense areas - Better ATC - more choices. Better replies / overall interaction - Better prop flight model (not so much roll due to torque and more yaw - better effects of slipstream over various aicraft surfaces) - Tweak ground friction so that my cessna and other GA aircraft don't weathervane on a 5knot wind as soon as I release brakes... - Chance to set weight stations for aircraft, and load them from within the simulation, just like in FSX, thus affecting CoG (without having to rely on plugins like that excellent one that comes with the IL-14). - Chance to use the mouse wheel for controlling knobs (specially on radios and the like...) October 16, 201213 yr Wow I wonder if a real million dollar simulator would be able to accomplish that. Quite a list indeed!!! Most of the items were implemented long ago in the good-old FSX, others can be found in MS FLIGHT, Aerofly, Condorsoaring, Silent Wings, ELITE, etc... So, it shouldn't be that difficult to port into the new 64-bit X-Plane10 ;-) There is actually only one completely new - the calculation of air density taking into consideration the amount of moist, wich in turn can be based on the relation T / Td... Ah! FSX also has T and Td... although they end up not being used.... October 16, 201213 yr But please notice I haven't asked for such things as more cars on roads, or other vehicles on the ground / seas (couldn't care less about it...) and not even asked for moving clouds - that would certainly have an impact.... Using T / Td for density is just one more term in the equation that X-Plane presently uses... ;-) Yet another huge impact is certainly having AI controlling the other aircraft using the same core FM... That is really a waste of processing power, IMHO, and the results are poor after all... I have AI set to None.... ( only 1 airplane - mine :-) ) since I saw a NASA 744 landing at my glider grass strip... October 17, 201213 yr Wow I wonder if a real million dollar simulator would be able to accomplish that. Quite a list indeed!!! I don't know...most of them seem rather straight forward...or common sense things...I especially like the mouse wheel thing. Friction settings seem easy enough to implement...The better ATC may be a while that would take a lot of re-programming IMO. I personally would like to see: -Seasonal Land Textures (or at least the ability to implement them if the art assets are available) and I think some of the stuff from Jcomm's list
October 17, 201213 yr Seasonal Land Textures (or at least the ability to implement them if the art assets are available Now that you mention it, I do agree that this is a must. Please don't get me wrong, I have no right to question your needs, its just that I do not have RL experience like you and some things on you list are quite interesting but to are not a must for me. I am a software programmer thought and from that stand point, I can tell you that it will take a lot of man hours and $$ to get to the realism level you want. Anyway I do hope that some day we can get our hands on a sim with all those goodies. October 17, 201213 yr I want XP10 to not take 20,000 hours to do a complete reinstall. Lol. All I ask. Make it easy and I will switch. Also. Please guys, what do you mean when you say "art assets" William Sequeira
October 17, 201213 yr -Seasonal Land Textures (or at least the ability to implement them if the art assets are available) +1 of course... ;-) Please don't get me wrong, I have no right to question your needs, its just that I do not have RL experience like you and some things on you list are quite interesting but to are not a must for me.
