Hi,

just for my information. Are we supposed to expect any service pack for the NGX on top of SP1c?

Thanks

Dave

Dear PMDG team,

I am joining Dave´s question if you don´t mind us to ask. We are not asking dates but if you have plans to release any other service pack on top of SP1c and if positive what´s the future improvements coming.

Needless to say how I am satisfied with the airplane. For a long time I am a loyal user of PMDG and already purchased several aircrafts from PMDG.

The forum search function is a lot quicker (and more self-sufficient) than asking people to do your work for you...

There are additional features planned that will be regressive upon the 777 release. So, when the 777 releases, expect some updates for the NGX. I'd imagine these would be in the form of a SP, or simply a part of the 777, but I'm not the team, so that's only an educated guess.

Scandinavian,

PMDG team,

If you don't mind (I imagine not) please update your loyal users.

Really...let's see here:

...and this is why I get upset when people don't look for themselves. I took time out of my morning and provided you an answer and you looked right over it. Instead of demanding other people (the team or otherwise) take time out of their day to update you, go do it yourself. The search feature is at the top right, and you'll see plenty of topics answering your question.

I love this site, but if there is one thing that could improve its Avsim's search engine (IMHO).

Scandinavian,

Don't get me wrong and don't stay upset. I always spent part of my time helping others but there's no reason to launch it against our faces because we do it by pleasure.

I asked this question because it's not clear the answer. And I asked to the PMDG team which if possible for sure will answer us.

The best answer you will receive is this: (FTR, Kyle's was better, mine is shorter!)

"NGX update will follow the release of the 777X"

Those words are from the PMDG team in a prior announcement. (not exact quote but basically what they said). The PMDG team needs to stay hard at work on developing instead of answering questions that have already been answered.

Hope that helps you.

Fair enough. My main point (despite my terse early morning, no coffee tone), was that it's not exactly best practice to ask for an update, personally, as was done here. Imagine how that would go...

Official announcement comes out, you miss it because you're on holiday, not watching the fora, etc...

You ask for an update, as in this thread

PMDG provides it

Next person misses it and asks for a personal update

PMDG Provides it

Next person misses it...

[Rinse, repeat]

Instead, it's more effective to make your announcement, and have people search for it. Most of the time, this information is contained in a forum sticky/pin.

(FTR, Kyle's was better, mine is shorter!)

Your answer was shorter than one of mine? Blasphemy!!! Everyone knows my posts for their brevity!

(HA!)

Kyle, FWIW (nothing, in point of fact), I would suspect an SP over tying the improvements updates to the 777, but that's just a guess basic on prior company practice.

BTW, saw you post that you visited KHEF. They are lengthening the east runway to the semi-ridiculous (for a regional non-airline airport) to 6,200. I tend to use the west side unless I need the ILS or there is a delay/ traffic on that side.

I'd agree with that. I figured they have two options, though:

1 - not buying the 777: here's the SP download link

2 - buying the 777: don't bother, the installer automatically does what the SP would do anyway

They asked if I wanted a side and I took east because I was picking someone up at the main term.

Maybe they think they're going to get another Colgan, flying out of HEF instead of IAD. Like Allegiant does all over the US: relievers only to save on gate/ramp fees.

Maybe. I'm not sure the main terminal is really equipped for airline traffic unless they updated it recently. (Which they could have, I haven't been in there in at least two years, and my plane used to be in a hangar on the west side.) Ditto parking, and all the other needs of a commercial airport. If I had to guess, the larger tenants wanted an extension. DOJ/FBI keeps a G5 there; maybe they want something bigger (Like a 738?) .

By the way, when Colgan had their HQ there, it was a hoot. All these large turboprops in USAir Express (mostly) colors lined up for the 3 minute ride to Dulles. Kind of funny to watch and listen to ATC deal with them especially if KIAD was landing north.

Well ... I asked a simple question and 3/4 of this thread turned out in people bashing each other, together with the inevitable know-it-all patronizing answer to use the search.

The only poster that gave the simple answer I was looking for in just plain words was VAE_jonp. Thank you mate.

And btw:

Although I'll certainly get the 777 once it's out, I would definitely not appreciate if any NGX improvements were tied to an installation of the 777. That would be some kind of crooky business practice and I can't imagine PMDG doing this.

Dave P. Woycek

So Kyle's answer, which is the same, just longer, didn't cut it for you?

See Kyle, you really should have made your answer shorter ;-)

Nobody said anything about the updates being tied to a 777 install though.

yeah...I guess because I believe that people should be self sufficient, my updates don't count...

You're right though. My responses could be shorter across the board.

And I didn't mean to say that's what anyone said was going to happen. It's just my idea of what might happen.
