Parking, terminal and docking charts or maps?

Featured Replies

Its so trial and error (and hence tiring) when you pick a large airport and get a list of nearly 100 places to start from in the drop down 'Choose runway or starting position' in FSX.

Is there a web site or information somewhere that lists most of the worlds medium to large airports along with a map showing where all the parking, terminal, docking designations are located?

Also, if you use add on airports as opposed to default that have realistic parking numbers, you can use Navigraph NDAC for many hundreds of charts for thousands of airports. The credits to obtain the NDAC charts are not free, but they are pretty cheap for what you're getting in return.

I use Skyvector, which is pretty good, especially for the US. Those are real world charts, though, but they match FSX pretty much all the time.

You can get airport charts, departure and arrival charts, and also information about VOR and NDB freqs, and it's all for free!

So I search all over Skyvector since its the only free source. I looked at several airport info pages but none list what I ask for in my OP. What am I missing? Do you have to be a member and logged in?

Skyvector has airport diagrams, but the airport diagrams I've seen don't have specific gate numbers. You don't need to be logged in to get these pdfs. This is an example of what you can get from skyvector:

Like mentioned above, FSCommander may be the solution you need because it shows each parking spot:

Sorry, I misread your question. You're right, of course, skyvector doesn't offer such charts.

Here's a site that has terminal charts (with gate numbers) for a large number of US airports

http://www.ifly.com/.../LAX-Terminal-5

As for European airports, most sets of charts including a parking chart, in addition to the standard airport chart, and this shows gate numbers. I tend to access the European charts via the VatSim region (Europe or UK) at

http://www.vatsim.eu/

But a lot of charts are also accessible just by doing a quick search (via Google or whatever your favourite search engine is) for the AIP of the relevant country.

Using this combination of sources I normally find I can get gate information for just about all the airports I fly into (or out of).

Hope this helps
