FS Passengers X - where to buy?

Featured Replies

Is the only place to buy it from FlightSimStore? Appears to be the case, why would they limit themselves like this?

<general rant> Maybe I'm getting old and grumpy but I tire of having to make signup accounts everywhere just to buy a product.

You can also email the developer directly...from the fspassengers site.

Be aware he doesn't appear to support the product anymore. I really liked FSPassengers but i have now moved on, the lack of support and development was the kicker.

I am in no way linked to this product but the support is first class and development is ongoing, you could do much worse than give it a look, it's called fscaptain. It's like FSPassengers but with the economic side.

Has anyone seen FS Passengers ever go on sale? $48 is pretty high for what this product offers I feel.

FSCaptain seems ok but there is no demo that I can see? Not sure it will interest me as I'd like. Can't even seem to find any walk through or demo videos?

No, I very highly doubt it will ever go on sale. That would require actions from the developer, and apparently he isn't really doing anything with Fspassengers anymore.

FSCaptain has a new release 1.4 that will probably be up tomorrow (Monday Oct 29th on the East Coast of the US if the storm doesn't flood us out first!). The press releases are being sent out tonight.

There's a demo at the web site http://www.fscaptain.net - just download the product using the green button, install and try it out. The "demo" is actually the full product but you're limited to takeoffs from any of three airports - KOLM, KPDX, or KSEA. Registration simply opens up the world to you.

Release 1.4 contains a newly written and comprehensive tutorial. It also has a new ACARS device that's FMC-like, more robust support for virtual airlines, built-in support for the NGX, many more airlines to choose from based on real world ones, an appeals system to reverse penalties, and much more.

I am connected to the product as its principle developer, but all the above is simply factual, not opinion. Try it and judge for yourself. No obligation to buy. And development and support is ongoing with 1.5 being worked on right now.

Thanks Dutch for the heads up on the update. Not visited the FsCaptain web sit for a while.

I used FSPassengers and FSPasssengersX for years and can strongly advise you to not spend your money on it. The developer has not supported it for years, it has several annoyances such as the tire pop issue, and the only support for resolving issues you will encounter comes from the kindness of a few individuals.

Wow, really? Far as I can tell they mention nothing of a demo anywhere on their site. They are being stealthy about this fact for a reason I assume. Seems crazy to me though.

I might as well wait for 1.4 and demo that then, thanks for all the info.

excited for the update dutch..good news

I used fspassengers years ago when it was still getting support from the developer.

Between then and now, the software hasn't changed one bit except get outdated and keep the same price tag.

Now I use fscaptain, which gets constant support, regular updates and is a better program in my opinion.

VeryBumpy,

Not trying to be stealthy :) The deal is that the demo version and the full version are exactly the same thing. You download it for free and try it out. It limits you as to the airports you can depart from. To remove that limitation you purchase a code and enter it, and the limitation is removed. You don't have to download or install anything else. If you're happy flying only from KPDX, KSEA, and/or KOLM you don't even have to register, you have it for free!

But I see where that isn't clear, so I put a statement on the website in the news section explaining it -- thanks for the input it was helpful. I hope you enjoy FSCaptain. The forums are very helpful if you have questions, and you will be listened to and treated with respect.

And, while we're at it, version 1.4 is officially released as of now ;)
