Weather Dilemma

My own experience bears this assertion out.

In a spirit of helpfulness 3Green has offered a work-around solution. That may be a very welcome last resort.

Now for many years I have used AS6.5 as a weather engine coupled with cloud textures by HDE (freeware) and later Rex (payware) ... so have many other members it seems. To my mind/eyes this combination seemed pretty much perfect and I DISLIKE change in my old age. Therefore I embarked on a little research ...

I tried to like Rex's weather engine but its updating stalled my flights.

Enviro ... well I have never been able to download the metars.

FS_Metar (up to version 9 now) but no recent reviews

Opus seems very promising but not for FS9 ... yet

Latest versions of REX and Active Sky are for FSX exclusively.

Is the only solution Active Sky Evolution to avoid end-of-life for the time being. Can users explain if ASE differs from AS6.5 in its treatment of flight plans and does it still have the option of controlling GE Pro's textures.

Apologise for the rambling but any input would be welcome. I also dislike spending money to replace something I already own. Rather prefer to spend what spare cash I have on Bratislava, Dubai, PFPX etc.

As far as I know, AS2012 works with FS9 as it's mentioned several times in the manual.

Edit: disregard. From the Hifi site:

Active Sky 2012 is designed specifically for FSX.

No.

Have you ever considered creating your own weather file?

There are other solutions, guess it depends on what your needs are.

And I will also state that ASv6.5 works just fine with FS04.

. I would update fsuipc3 from this site:

Thanks Ronzie.

I thought I was up to date with registered 3.9.9.9 but now upgraded to 3.9.9.9x..

Thanks for replying Jim.

It was not so much that ASv6.5 was not currently working, rather than the time it was now taking to process the imported FS9 flightplan.
