November 9, 201213 yr I really need someone to help me with this every time I try to start fsx It crashes before it can even load the menu. I do not know if this is due to a PMDG product but I highly doubt it. Last time I played fsx it was little over a month ago and I had no problems with crashes at all. I started trying to play fsx about 2 days ago and this was when I first started experiencing the crashes. I could not even get to the menu in fsx like I said, but after i restarted my comp I was playing smoothly like i was months before. After thinking I fixed the problem i tried to get on today and it started again, at first I was able to get to a flight but then it crashed shortly after. And now I cant even get to the FSX menu for it crashes before it can load. I tried about every thing I can think of but i cant figure this out. Hopefully someone with knowledge on this can help me with this, I also tried searching for solutions on the internet but I found none. I am just really confused on what happened I did not add any add ons, and to think the months before I never had problem with crashes... Thanks to whoever can give me input on this. ~Corey~ edit: I got some messages finally after the crash maybe someone can tell me what they mean _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Corey
November 10, 201213 yr did you by any chance play with the settings? that's a classical out of memory crash. try to lower the settings. Daniel choen
November 10, 201213 yr did you by any chance play with the settings? that's a classical out of memory crash. try to lower the settings. I really doubt that this is a classical memory problem, as he wasn´t even able to start FsX completely! Try to check your ram in general, sounds to me like it is broken. Google some freeware programs and let them run for a few hours and post your results here. Best regards, Nik Reineke
November 10, 201213 yr It's probably a corrputed installation. It's trying to access invalid memory adresses. Probably need to remove and reinstall again. November 11, 201213 yr Oh FSX, why do you keep giving us so many headaches... Arjen Vandervelde
November 11, 201213 yr I am having the same problem. I have a dual boot machine with FSX installed on both Windows 7 and Windows 8 and it only does it on windows 8. Not sure if this is the reason though. What OS are you running? Also I have an ASUS P8Z77-v Pro Mboard and have heard the ASUS suite can cause hassles. What Mboard do you have? Between us we may be able to narrow down the cause.
November 12, 201213 yr Commercial Member Oh FSX, why do you keep giving us so many headaches... ...because as a program, it's junk. If FSX was a plane crash, it would be held as an example of how not to write software. Best regards, Robin.
November 12, 201213 yr ...because as a program, it's junk. If FSX was a plane crash, it would be held as an example of how not to write software. Best regards, Robin. You're so right. FSX is absolutely a dream, when it works. Luckily is works most of the time, but when it doesn't, it really does not work at all. I hope, that shortly there will be a new platform with equal (or preferably even better) qualities than FSX. Because this program isn't gonna last forever. On topic: I can only think of a memory problem or unstable overclock. Reinstalling usually doesn't fix anything unlike many people think. It just replaces files that were already there in the first place. Every now and then though, it does fix something. But only use it as a last resort. Do some stress testing and memory testing. If it passes all that, then reinstall. Arjen Vandervelde
November 16, 201213 yr I only get in-sim freezes that eventually turn into CTDS with the MD11. Long haul trips. The sound doesn't continue. W7 64-bit just says "FSX has stopped responding...". Sometimes it snaps back to life, sometime not. I' ve look for isssues and tried every fix I saw (uiautomationcore etc.) Win 7, 64 bit., ASUS P67 MOBO, Sandbridge i-5 2500k, 8 Gigs RAM, GTX470. I think that i read that the md-11 is more prone just due to the sheer number of panels that get loaded. Which is somerthing I really hate cuz the MD is my favorite bird to fly. I' ve just never been able to solve that one issue. NGX never freezes, Flies like a dream point-to-point. Dave Wegner - Don't be afraid of common sense or the search function.
November 18, 201213 yr Commercial Member I think that i read that the md-11 is more prone just due to the sheer number of panels that get loaded. Which is somerthing I really hate cuz the MD is my favorite bird to fly. Did you try flying the same routes with the NGX that you fly with the MD-11 (using unlimited fuel if necessary)? I'll bet the NGX will crash, too. The MD-11 is not that heavy on the sim. The problem is definitely with FSX itself. Worth getting the FS9 version of the MD-11 - wish I got it sooner!!! Other than the VC panel backlighting is ON/OFF in FS9, I haven't found any differences. Best regards, Robin.
November 19, 201213 yr ugh growing increasingly frustrated with FSX as of late. Constantly crashing no matter what i do, i'm lucky to finish a flight these days which is driving me mad. i'm actually putting all my flying down for a good long while thanks to FSX. Just today done one of my most hardest approach / landings ever, flying the Concorde into Sydney tonight with lots of rain and wind (20nm) and made a beautiful landing. rolling up to the gate ready to unload fsairlines and shut down and behold! fsx crashes. **** FSX! Bob Kermin.

Luckily mine currently works ok, but if yours doesn't, don't keep flying forever, the crashes won't stop happening anyway. Usually there isn't really any solution and it's just a matter of being lucky. Arjen Vandervelde
November 19, 201213 yr Commercial Member And I just don't get why people wanna use FSX forever. ...because most don't have time for long flights (the time FSX really shows its flaws), and from a marketing perspective, "the latest is the greatest" - even if it isn't. I can blast for an hour or so in FSX all day - so long as I quit the sim and restart it between flights. Over 2 hours and I start to expect to see it die at some random moment. No fun. I disable everything, block access to uiautomationcore.dll to avoid that crash (FSX is the prob there too - not the program extension), and don't run add-on scenery as it only makes FSX crash sooner. The fact there is an option in the FSX.cfg called "HIGHMEMFIX" (hint is in the word FIX) shows that ACES were aware of a major problem, and were formulating a hack to try and solve it (which it seems they did, partially). What a mess. FS9 forever! Best regards, Robin.

November 19, 201213 yr And I just don't get why people wanna use FSX forever. until something else better comes along that fanstastic 3rd party devs like PMDG and FSL supports it, we're stuck with it Bob Kermin.
