November 14, 201213 yr Make sure you give total control in the "Security" tab of whatever folder you're sure in addition to the "sharing" tab.
November 14, 201213 yr Author i tried that syill wont let me. c\progfiles 86 and c\fsx tried share. security everything i try , at the end when hit apply it says error no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper. dont have any trouble with my other files elsewhere. any step by step instructions, cause i must be stupid thanks
November 14, 201213 yr I believe you will need to install simconnect on the other computer ti run addons in FSx from it. Someone else can weigh in on this Jay
November 14, 201213 yr You need three things: - correct share on the server machine and accessible from the client machine - correct simconnect setup - possibly FSUIPC/wideFS for some addons You said you can't share the C:\FSX. Did you try sharing the whole C? I suggest you try googling tutorials on how to network with windows 7... that might be a good starting point, as you apparently don't have the network set up correctly?
November 14, 201213 yr googling picked up many sites with this problem, seems to be related to mis-configured windows firewall, possibly due to malware infection. So I would recommend first checking and cleaning any malware, then follow this procedure or a vaiation of it can be found many other places: http://superuser.com...-the-endpoint-m Never had to do anything like this myself. As mentioned previously, I've found first setting the security (access control) on the folder and all contents to "full control" by "Everyone" and then setting advanced sharing with "Everyone" again to be most reliable in letting all machines (Win XP through Win8) on a workgroup see shares (all my machines are on the same workgroup, but don't know if that matters). Once you can see the shares you can work towards getting your apps to run via simconnect or widefs. You might also need to share your flight simulator x folder in "my documents" for flightplans/saved flights. (I also move "My documents" out of the users folder hierarchy). scott s. .

November 15, 201213 yr If all your computers are running the same win7 x64 (advisable) then why not just enable the home group... Really easy to do and sets up your firewall for you. Here's how: http://windows.microsoft.com/is-IS/windows7/products/features/homegroup Malware is highly unlikely to be the cause, but using a good AV program like avast doesn't do any harm. My 3 win7 x64 machines are all talking to each other 24/7, with zero config required :-) Richard... Amateur Pilot and UK Web Hosting Guru 🙂
