November 19, 201213 yr I never wrote a review in my life but the sheer awesomeness of this program compels me to write one. Hands down this is the addon of the year. Opusx just delivers on so many levels and everytime you fire it up its the gift that keeps on giving. First of the program is light. When I first downloaded the program I though, hey is this it? Man oh Man was I wrong. There are no fancy graphics or buttons, no bells nor whistles it looks like something a novice programmer would build just to test his C++ skills. However as simple as it may look it runs circles around any weather addon on the market. Combined! When I say weather is spot on I mean its spot on. It's so accurate I looked out my office window and the weather was spot on. I was coming in for an approach into MCO weather was reported as MVFR on approach I could see the OC layer and as i hit it pure ifr all the way down to about 1k. As a real pilot nothing is sweeter than seeing the runway after breaking through a cloud deck until now that experience could not be created in fsx To add while it updates weather you don't even know its there the program is so unobtrusive I forgot it was activated. Secondly when you move from area to area you can still see the weather you left behind. I departed MCO with broken clouds at 2500. When I got to the VRB vor it was reporting few clouds, now in active sky the weather engine would clear weather flicker as it updates and then display VRB weather thus deleting MCO weather. Well NO MORE with opusfsx I looked back at Orlando and saw it was still heavily clouded even while VRB was reporting few clouds Bottom line the program is amazing hands down grab it NOW i don't care if you have to borrow the money. It's a must have program for any serious flight sim enthusiast Jamal Pratt Eastern Operations Manager| www.legend-virtual.org
November 19, 201213 yr Some say theres some hysteria going on with opus I just say it does what it's programmed to do extremely well. Welcome to the club. Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering

November 19, 201213 yr I would say 5 stars too. Perfect combination of simplicity and function. As simple as you can get but functionally a powerhorse on so many levels. Fatback Edit: Ummm, I didn't mention the customer support. I've used it once and the response was instantaneous and solved my problem right away. And from what I've seen on the forums that is standard. This is a whole new experience too...

November 19, 201213 yr I've been REAL tempted to buy Opus, but Ive been getting some incredible weather lately with Active Sky flying around the Pacific Fiords. If it aint broke dont fix it ya know. So what exactly is Opus going to do better when not flying in the fog? And can I keep my Ezdok cameras and head movements and just use Opus purely for weather injection? Chris Strobel KSNA
November 19, 201213 yr Commercial Member Hi Chris At the risk of blowing my own trumpet I would say Jamal described a few of the things OpusFSX does better in the first post but there are lots of benefits to using Opus. When you move from area to area you can still see the weather all around you, the weather loads quickly, no flicker, accurate weather, good overcast effects, three products in one ... You can retain EZCA if you wish but if you try our cameras I think you will be impressed with the real life accelerometer data effects. We are working on true (as opposed to simulated) winds and temps aloft at the moment and the product is continually being developed and enhanced. Try the demo or buy it and if you can't see the benefits you can have a refund within 30 days. Regards Cheryl
November 19, 201213 yr @Chris I have ASE from hifi too not the 2012 because I use Rexe+OD ..I was using ase for the weather engine and rex for the environment texture I just uninstalled ase because opusfsx is definitely better. ..it loads instantly no more green banners, flickering, spots of blue skies on overcast weather. .now overcast is overcast and zero visibility on landing...this weather is amazing. November 19, 201213 yr Author Shot an RNAV approach into TNCM last night vis was spot on at 3.1nm i actually started sweating until i broke out and saw the runway at 780 feet! Jamal Pratt Eastern Operations Manager| www.legend-virtual.org
November 19, 201213 yr Dang you guys are great at sales :Applause: :Big Grin: Ok, so what exactly is Opus installing in my FSX folder, and if I don't like it can it be 100% clean uninstalled leaving absolutely no traces? Ive worked very hard getting my FSX running as great as it does, and Im a little spooked here :vava: Thanks Guys Chris Strobel KSNA
November 19, 201213 yr Commercial Member OpusFSX is installed in its own folder and the flight1 licence is installed in a separate folder, the FSX folder is untouched. Regards Cheryl
