November 29, 201213 yr Not sure what to make of what I read after looking up the priority of the CPU. A few articles and threads I found from a google search says that running the program with anything above "Above Normal" adds alot of risk exponentially. If it locks, there is a real risk of losing data. Some even alluded to the fact that it is unrecoverable. Not sure if that is a hardware corruption risk or not. Doesnt seem to hold that much water. Im no expert in the least on the software side, but err on the side of caution and as Great Ozzie said, dont use realtime computing. Do your homework. Its not worth the high risk after all the investment and time we put into our rigs. CYVR LSZH I7-14700k 64gb 6000Mhz DDR5 ASUS z690 ROG STRIX Gaming RTX 4080 Super,
November 29, 201213 yr Author sorry...not "affinity"....it's "priority". It's in task manager/processes/ right click fsx.exe/ choose real time or High. Real time can produce some glitches (for me it's sound issues. I've never had a crash or instability though). Unpark your cores and see if that, combined with High priority gives you 80% use on all threads. It did for me....with great results, but not everyone seems to benefit the same. I"m running win 7
December 16, 201213 yr Tried unlocking the cores with that program with Windows 7, now around ~15 FPS YBBN Orbx Brisbane. I use to be getting around ~10, maybe it does work. Soarbywire - Avionics Engineering
December 18, 201213 yr Good find! Just curious OP, why did you post this in the CTD forum?! I've had better performance running Bojote's tweaks as well (however I have incorporated some of Word Not Allowed's / Ryan's tweaks for IQ).
