Something to mention about this update is the Gizmo/SASL conflict is now eliminated.

Cameron (X-Aviation owner) took the initiative and worked with Laminar to get it sorted out.

Nobody uses outdated Gizmo...

Nobody uses outdated Gizmo...

That's not correct. Many developers are using Gizmo and moving up to Gizmo 12.

One of them is IXEG, who are making what is arguably one of the best add ons for any flight sim (the 737 Classic) are using Gizmo exclusively.

In case you didn't know, two of the developers are probably the most revered developers in X-Plane. Tom Kyler (MU-2) and Morten Melhuus (Flight model genius)

However, does it really matter? What matters is that Gizmo and SASL can now work in X-Plane with absolutely no conflicts or issues.

That is a huge step and great news for customers who own add ons that use both plug ins.

The next step is 64 bit versions of both.

I've heard it crashes all the time, so congratulations that they've finally fixed at least that. But sorry, I'll never use it as it does not even support all OS.-

Again, you are incorrect.

Gizmo does not crash at all.

And something just for your information, from what I have read, the latest build of SASL is not able to compile on Mac's.

I certainly hope they get that fixed soon!

No, several people told me so.

From http://developer.x-p...ng-two-changes/:

...

I’m hoping to get a beta 4 out over the weekend with art assets if beta 3 goes smoothly.

...

So: hopefully these two changes will go smoothly and we’ll get on to beta 4 and art assets soon. The artists work their butts off to create this stuff and we want to roll it out!

...

Now that sound great. Looking formward to beta 4 .

Great News,I won't miss that God Aweful sound when both plug-ins are active

More info on the Gizmo vs SASL conflict being resolved may be found here: http://blog.x-aviati...gizmo-and-sasl/

Gizmo has never been known to crash X-Plane, but it has been known to have an intolerable, horrible noise which also brings X-Plane to a halt when SASL is running alongside it.

This no longer happens as of X-Plane 10.2 Beta-3. Ben Supnik and I worked extensively to resolve this over the last year, and Gizmo 12 will provide even more improvements. You may run Gizmo and SASL together without any issue as of today.

There is nothing you need to do aside from just updating X-Plane to the latest beta to be a part of this patch! :)

SASL always worked fine, because it's kept within aircraft plugins! Only your gizmo made it crash because you kept your plugin globally in resources/plugins.

Now instead of installing Gizmo into aircrafts like everybody else does, you decided to remain globally, even if it crashes lots of airplanes.- You even bothered Ben about

this...which fits your profile.

It seems as though you don't want X-Plane to grow with more add ons. Or you want to have SASL as the monopoly.

That's a very backwards way of thinking. Without competition, nothing improves.

I'm sorry you still have a chip on your shoulder, Michael Sgier (ahso). Perhaps in time you will settle down, though I am not overly hopeful. SASL has done wonders for many developers, and we wanted to make it work so that the thousands of customers running Gizmo could enjoy their X-Plane experience alongside SASL. I realize you are unable to enjoy said products due to your operating system of choice, but that is something I cannot help. I also have nothing (nor did I say anything) bad to say about SASL. Why you choose to argue it in this manner is beyond my comprehension.

I don't think coming to a resolution that makes it so two widely used plug-ins work in harmony is a bad thing, but I understand you disagree. I also understand that you have misinterpreted the situation with regards to Laminar's (Ben's) involvement in the process, though I chalk this up to perhaps you being disgruntled for your own reasons and wishing to see it in a bad light.

Whatever the case, and no matter where you stand, the outcome of this situation benefits everyone affected, and for that we are happy.

What makes you think that I'm that person? Honestly, again you need a psy*. I'll never talk to you again, bye.

I know precisely who you are, Michael. This is also why I am not surprised of your responses here. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
