I'm adding more and more First Officer Voice Sets to Emergency NGX.

 

The Emergency NGX expansion pack will now ship with the following new voices:

 

1. Australian accent

2. German accent.

3. American female accent

4. Caribbean accent.

5. French accent.

 

I'd really like to get someone with a Spanish accent.

 

So if you speak English with a Spanish accent, please contact me asap.

Just curious, I see you dont have American male- does this mean for the NGX we will have one voice for normal procedures and then a different voice for non-normals?

Only one voice set will be used for the Non-Normal procedures... probably either US female or Caribbean (that's Damien, our 737 consultant).

 

So the extra voices will be for "regular" procedures only.

 

So in total you'll have this:

 

Regular Procedures

 

Current set (First Officer):

 

US male

UK male

European male

 

 

Extra "normal procedures" that come with Emergency NGX (First Officer only):

 

US female

Australian male

German male

Spanish male (hopefully)

Caribbean male

French male

 

Non-Normal Procedures:

 

American female or Caribbean male

The extra voice sets are just "added pluses".

 

A lot of people want extra voices, even though they have no interest in abnormal procedures.

 

The amount of recordings for the non-normal procedures is a lot, and it's not practical to have non-normals for every voice set.

 

So the way it will work is this:

 

1. With Emergency NGX! you'll get a whole bunch of new normal procedure voice sets... think of it as a free bonus.

 

2. If you want to run non-normal procedures from the QRH, you'll need to use the one voice set that is available for the non-normal procedures. I'm now leaning toward using the new Australian voice for the non-normals. He is a real world airline pilot and he has an extremely clear voice, and his accent is more neutral than strong.

Forgive me, but it sounds like you're getting carried away with all these extra voices and losing focus on the non-normal part of this. maybe you should consider spllitting this up into a seperate addon voice package and non-normal package. Just my two cents, I personally don't care for a bunch of new voices, just a standard voice for both normal and non-normal procedures. Anyway, looking forward to this.

Focus is still on the non-normals. I'm modelling the most interesting ones. Some of them I can't model due to limitations with the current SDK because I can't read enough data to have the FO make smart "decisions" on his own.

 

So far I've modeled 19 events from the QRH.

 

I'll probably release with around 23 or so failures, give or take.

 

 

I'm adding all the extra voices because most people will probably be more interested in the extra voices than the QRH stuff, and I still have to sell this package and hope I break even on it at least.

 

The number of users who are interested in 'failures' is admittedly pretty small; they are the hardcore of the hardcore, but they are also the most vocal.

 

Most users have their hands full just doing a normal flight from A to B.

Unfortunately I think I would not have time at the moment (in the last 10 days I haven't almost touched the sim :( ) and the situation is getting worse and worse as Christmas approaches... Anyway I would appreciate a lot if an italian voice could be made!
