Rob,

"Summer of Moving Trucks"

What does that mean? We were asked to ask you from the facebook page. Now you have to tell us ;)

What does that mean?

I'm pretty sure that refers to the move that Robert and his family made from Reno to Virginia (or some other mid-Atlantic state).

Virginia, correct. Just south of DC.

Hope he didn't leave the 777 in Reno

Cheers,

Don Emerson

I've gone to the Reno Air Races for a number of years, and ended up talking to Rob a couple of times in the pits a few years back. In the past years he had another pilot race his T6. However, this year I couldn't find his plane. I suspect after the accident over a year ago, he may have decided to give up racing, or the move affected his participation.

I enjoyed talking to him as he was very friendly and an interesting person to talk to. I was looking forward toseeing him this year.

I had heard from someone else who knew him that he had moved.

Good luck to Rob in his new home.

This is another Clark requesting this story be told... I asked in another thread and RSR said if had some down time he would post... I am guessing he is flying high above the ground performing approval flights in a T7. As I type this we are just over the snow capped Rockies at about FL290 in a DALA MD-90! Dreaming it was a T7....

Enjoy flying on an endangered species! That said, Delta just bought their 50th MD-90 last month from JAL (not bad considering they shunned MD when they were a launch customer, taking only 16 of 130 possible MD-90 in the late 90s!!! Seems they can't get enough of them now, with them buying up the remainder of the world fleet! They're flying them too - they're not for parts).

Best regards,

Robin.

Hello Robin. I have to say being an airplane snob and never really liking any MD aircraft... I was rather pleased with our flight. I have enjoyed flying the PMDG MD-11 and getting to know her over the years... Those two aircraft are worlds apart. I just don't see the long term pay off on purchasing these old birds. I guess that's why I am not sitting in the front office for DALA. Well hope all is well at flightsimlabs... Have a great week....!

Having been in numerous T7's over the years I would personally prefer to get a flight in a MD90 as I have never been in one.

Same reason they keep flying the DC9. They'll be paid off...

If anyone is wondering if aircraft are often owned by the airline, you need only look as far as Steven F. Udvar Hazy to see your answer.

Used MD-90 is far cheaper than a shiny new Boeing, even with a great deal on the engines. They are not that fuel inefficient either (they are not equipped with the older JT-7Ds).

V2500 are great engines in their own right - they are used on Airbus A32x for example.

Best regards,

Robin.
