Purchasing an extended download

Featured Replies

If I Purchase an extended download, Can I re-download the 747 I purchasd 1 1/2 years ago?

Tim

Hello Tim, Even if your extended download was still valid, which it isnt, it would be unwise to do so in view of the fact that this product is being updated and should be streets ahead of the current version I would be inclined to be patient and wait for the new arrival. Richard Welsh.

Thanks Richard. PMDG is worth the wait. If my extended download is ready to expite, do I Ihave the option extend it?

should be streets ahead

I think the term would be "miles" ahead.

do I Ihave the option extend it?

I don't think there is an option to extend the download service (other than buying it again).

Why don't you just save the file onto a cd or flash drive rather than worrying about purchasing the extended service again?

Or just upload the files to your Dropbox, Google Drive or MS Sky account.

I use the flash drive method for some important non FS stuff as well as backing up my installers, never know when a computer may get wiped out.

"Extended download service" indeed, quite a polished name for it isn't it? I love PMDG but that is a major gripe I think. It was already bad form two years ago, now it's simply capitalizing on the less computer savvy and lecturing (I guess mostly older) people on the importance of backup once the damage is already done.

That said, a thumb drive or drobox are the best options ATM. Dropbox.com gives you 2Gb for free, and you can of course create a new free gmail or yahoo or hotmail email-account before registering there.
