I have purchased all PMDG add-ons since the days of Fly! and the 757, which must be around 13yrs or so ago. Never in that time have I felt let down or ignored by PMDG, whether in a forum or in emails. I don't come here demanding information and other such things because PMDG's reputation is second to none and I can read!

 

I understand people are enthusiastic, but many of the topics and posts across all areas of the PMDG forum are simply unnecessary. Are they under any obligation to update us? No. Personally I would prefer them to spend as little time answering many of the pathetic posts on here and concentrate on what they do best.

 

I too want the 777, 747, DC6 and whatever comes next, but I also accept this is a hobby and really should not be taken so seriously. I shall now return to reading and laughing at the many posts...

Yes I mean November 2010. This time they antipated it for Q4 2012 - Q1 2013, expect it to be Q3 - Q4 2013, not earlier.

This cycle will always continue.

People will never be satisfied no matter how many screenshots, updates, videos, or groundbreaking products are delivered to them.

 

The ones that complain the loudest are usually the most impatient ones and they have to let the world know how impatient they are.

 

Best thing PMDG or any developer can do is just ignore these types of posts/complaints and forge on through the development process.

 

Everyone knows (even the complainers) that PMDG always delivers a top notch quality product, and no matter how loud the complainers get or how many threads they make, everyone also knows these are the exact same people taking their wallets out when the product releases.

They just don't say anything about it.

 

Will this post change a thing? Nope! But it wasn't meant to anyway. That's wishful thinking.

Just ignore 'em people. They're all bark and no bite.

I do not understand why PMDG are angry that people are really looking forward for your products! All it shows is that PMDG is good at what it does! Apple gets the same thing i know a lot of companies who would pay money to have such a loyal and frenzied following! be proud of it! you guys are great thats why people look forward to your release! but for god sake stop this defensiveness! customers asking about release date of dying to get a preview is a sign of success not a source for anger! i know alot of people in this forum, me included i might add would exchange one kidney for a full preview video and '777 features list'!

They have always been working on a woodpigeon. They are just seeing how their sales on the NGX would max out before releasing it. They know the demand for a quality woodpigeon is high as well, so they are working on making sure everything is in place. I heard talks about them updating the VNAV functionality of the NGX for use in the woodpigeon.

I don't see any signs of anger from PMDG but when people start criticizing incomplete work its a good reason to slow down with the updates until its largely finished also its a very good policy to not show your schedule to the public because you never know when you might run into a problem that will slow things down and cause dates to get moved back. Some of the veteran posters here who are not officially affiliated with PMDG get annoyed by the same questions getting asked over and over so its obvious they did not search the forum before posting.

Giving a company praise vs saying "I'm very disappointed in your company because you aren't developing the product fast enough" are two completely different things, and not in the same universe.

 

PMDG have a solid reputation and don't need to constantly reassure anyone that the 777 will be completed.

Everyone knows they will. Only those that are impatient ever say anything about it.

I thought it was a great post. Also, notice the "Popular" tag and currently 11 votes. Have you ever seen 11 votes before when it's not an admin making the post? Seems like a lot of people thought it was a great post.

my point is that people will keep asking will it be released constantly once 777-200lr is released then they start asking for 77w, then 747-400, 747-8 u get my point. the hobby we have is not a normal hobby. a lot of us wanted to get our dream job and flying is like a drug once u hooked u dont recover! so its no point putting these guys down.its just like telling a crack addict to 'calm down u will get u drug soon' he wont even hear you. but i do believe a sentence or two Rob general tends to feed the beast for 45mins then it all starts again! i dont envy pmdg! having all these guys here with an obsession depending on them to feed an obsession its hard! its like trying to herd cats. so no matter the veterans get annoyed is furtile trying to knock them down. i think instead the veterans should reassure and i know they too can barely keep their composure! its just the nature of the game chaps! and pmdg are big boys am sure they can handle criticism. one doesnt get to where Rob has without getting your face dragged in the mud along the way.

Totally agree here. Requests to stop requests are nonsensical. Furthermore it seems to have been lent some form of credence by talking about suspensions... (OK maybe that was tongue in cheek so no harm no foul, but yeesh)

 

 

All I know is that NO ONE is forced to read ANY topic. You chose to click on a "request" thread like you chose to click on anything else on these forums. Currently there is no new news. Nothing to see here. Let the real mods do their job. Move along.
