737NGX FMC Keypad UNreadable

Featured Replies

Just installed on Win7 64 bit, GTX 650ti ,2G ram on video and 8G on pc. All of the interior and exterior textures are perfect. When I close up on th FMC, to program it, the keypad is unreadable. The display is crystal clear but the keypad seems to be blurred out. Does not matter if I zoom in or out, keypad is unreadleabe.

Thought I would try here first before I send in a trouble ticket.

Thanks,

Gnacino

Is your texture max load setting in the FSX.cfg set to 4096?

My FMC keypad is perfectly clear whether the setting is 1024 or 4096.. I don't think that's his issue. More than likely it's a corrupted installation or his graphic driver/GPU is at fault or corrupted.

Okay. I thought it might have something to do with the maximum texture load setting, as sometimes textures appear to be of high quality from afar even when they are limited by 1024.

Then the original poster should perhaps reinstall/update drivers or try running the Flight1 Registry Repair Tool?

Have you checked that your display is set to 100 and not to 125 percent? on your w7 system

I changed my max texture to 4095, it was set at 30. Didn't make any difference at all. All of my drivers on my graphic card are up to date, My textures on everything else is perfect. The key pad is the only issue. All of my other AC are fine, I am not having trouble with anything else. I use REX Essential, that uses it's own textures. I ran FSX without it, still the same. This leads mee to believe it's a PMDG issue.

I'll let this thread on for a few, if no definative, I'll send a trouble ticket.

Thanks,

Really? Is it?

My vote is your hardware or an improper setting.

When troubleshooting, always start in and work out. Eliminate all causes internally - methodically - and then place the blame elsewhere. As you can see in the picture above, it's perfectly clear for me, using the same bitmaps and code you have on your machine.

If ya filled out your system information in your forum profile it would give us a hint to what to look for.

There was some issues being reported regarding Nvidia's latest driver release, not sure if that's an issue though (results seem to vary by card).

Double-check your graphics settings in FSX. You got global texture size set appropriately?

I don't see how your max_texture_load was set at '30'. I'm pretty sure the sim will reset it to 1024 every time you start up (There is some utilities out there that play with this). Regardless it's irrelevant with the NGX as it mips pretty well. Are we looking at the same thing here?

Perhaps a screenshot of your graphics options in FSX would help as well.

By the looks of your picture Gnacino, it isn't just the FMC keypad textures that are messed up, the GPWS panel, footwell and all that area are super low res.

Problem solved.

I had the global textures in FSX to zero. I increased them all the way up and now it's fine. I don't know how it got set to zero, but any way, thanks to all for your suggestions.
