Flightsim.com infected with Malware?

Recommended Posts

I tired to sign on to Flightsim.com today and it seems they have recently been infected with malware. Google Chrome won't let me on the website. Kind of surprising that a major Flight Sim website could be attacked so easily. Here's the site report: http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php%3F157538-Any-freeware-767-s-for-FSX&hl=en

Anyone else notice this, or know what's going on?

I tried to contact them to ask but no reply from them I think its a false positive but I'm not risking it.

Unfortunately with so many independent sources reporting it unsafe (Google, AVG, Mozilla...) it probably is not a false positive. I hope whatever it is, doesn't cause too much damage. We all know what happened when it happened to AVSIM. We'll just have to wait for official word that it's ok! Anybody trying to access now is taking a risk!

Thanks

it mentioned one of the servers it uses as having had malware content. Ive been with them since 1985 never got a bug from them. It seems fine now though and nothing has come up on bitdefender 2013

I'm still getting the warning using Firefox. It's too bad that we have in this world losers who have nothing better to do than waste clever people's valuable time.

Has anybody heard anything official from the flightsim staff on this?

For the most part, the response over at FlightSim.com is their typical curt, stiff, one line reply... "We don't see it anymore, it must be your system; do this and that, and try again."

Chrome and Firefox post the attack warning, and will not let you continue. Some have commented that they can navigate to the Home Page, and pull up the Forum page with no problems UNTIL trying to post a reply, then the Attack page comes up again and stops navigation. I've been able to look at the Forum page only, and there have been no recent replies about this issue posted.

Clearing the browser cache and re-starting the browser works only until one starts navigating around their Forum, then the attack page shows up and shuts down.

It's quite annoying, and I hope they will be more diligent in their workaround.

:(

It came good for awhile yesterday, but back to a warning again today. When are they going to advise us & fix it??

It's continuing to happen, and according to the good folks at FlightSim.com it's Google and Mozilla's issue, not theirs.

Like I said... typical response.

Well, it is Google and Mozilla's issue!

I've not had any problem whatever with either IE8 or IE9, so what does that tell you?
