Runway length/elevation Info

Featured Replies

I am new to the PMDG 737 and part of the info required in order to set up the HUG for the arrival airport is the runway length and the runway elevation.

Can someone tell me where I find this information from for various world airports.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Michael Broom

After you've selected your arrival runway in the FMC you can get the information you need like this:

Runway length: On the FMC hit INIT then INDEX then APPROACH. You'll see the runway length (and ILS frequency if doing and ILS approach) there.

Runway elevation: On the FMC go into Legs and scroll down until you see the landing runway entry. On the right is the runway elevation +50, so simply subtract 50 from the value shown and you have the TDZ elevation.

If you are planning flights outside of Flight Sim, here is an excellent source for real world airport information. Beware, not all Flight Sim airports are faithful reproductions of real world airports.

You can also use FSCommander (free/limited/trial version available) or PLAN-G (free). Personally I use the paid version of FSCommander, but I used the free version for 6 months before I took the plunge .. .. ..

You could always check the in game map, click on the airport and it will give you runway length and elevation information.
