This has suddenly started appearing in my VC views in FSX

Featured Replies

Hi all

In the past month or so, this visual annoyance started appearing in FSX. It appears in both the tower and VC views - for the life of me I can't work out why it has suddenly started appearing. I am running an Nvidia 660Ti video card and only yesterday updated my video driver, which I thought might make a difference, but sadly not. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, any views as to why this would be happening?

Are you talking about the pink visual in your HUD, or the black bar that comes on in the last few seconds?

The black bar looks like you are zoomed out just a tad too much, and part of your rear VC model is coming in front of your view.

Try putting your zoom just a few 0.5 back.

I agree, zoom in a bit and it will disappear.

Taking off is optional, landing is mandatory!

That's definitely not a piece of the cockpit. It doesn't move correctly.

It looks like a polygon in the aircraft model that's corrupt, or something to do with shadows. One of the buildings in Dubai stock scenery has a similar shadow problem on my system. You may be able to get rid of it with the above advice in any case. Try moving your viewpoint around a bit, and changing the zoom level. Try flying at a different time of day as well to see how it changes.

Edit: Ah, it appears in the tower view as well. In that case it's unlikely to be an aircraft problem. Check for addons that you may have installed just before the problem started.

I have seen this on multi monitor systems when a window has been moved to a second monitor.

Hi all, thanks for your responses.

I can confirm it has nothing to do with zoom, as nothing is any different with my zoom settings from the last 10 years. :-) . Also, this is not just happening in the VC, but also in tower view. It also does not seem to be ENB as I have tried it installed and uninstalled.

The only suggestion that seems plausible is Vic's second monitor point. I added a second monitor at the time this started appearing, although didn't think that a 2nd monitor might cause this issue. I will remove the 2nd monitor tomorrow and see if that makes a difference.

Thanks all

Eric
