does dino catteneo's f-35b vtol work?

When you do VTOL, you must lower the weight of the plane, the easiest is fuel, as it always loads you full of it. I usually use 25% on everything.

Or Mains 100% / Tips & Auxs Empty puts you just under 40.000lbs

What is your target groundspeed set to?

Assign a key to "aileron trim (center)" to set groundspeed to 0.

Thanks for your help. I assigned a key to "aileron trim (center)" as suggested, but I'm still getting the same result of the aircraft moving forward. Again, I made sure that my fuel and weight are below the limit and "HOVER" is blue and not red on the MFD. Any other suggestions?

see page 5 of the manual. if moving forward, probably need to install c++ rp.

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but what is c++ rp and how do I install it?

Any other suggestions?

Do the inboard weapon bay doors open before you try a vertical takeoff?

Once you're set up for a hover you do not touch the throttle until you convert to CTOL. It's on auto throttle and will give it an appropriate amount of thrust to hover based on your aft stick input.

On the left side of the HUD it should say if your GS is set to 0 (or whatever number it is). That will show if your key assignment worked and if it will really put you in a vertical hover. Mine would not hover the first time because I had NUM lock on (or off, I can't remember)and I assigned it to keypad NUM 5. Once I pushed NUM LOCK all was well.

Even in a 15 knot wind the F35 will hold a hover.

In a nutshell C++ redistributables are generic programming instructions that Microsoft makes available to programmers. If a programmer uses these instructions then they will be required for you to use the program properly (in this case it's the F35).

They can be downloaded from Microsoft but there are many different versions.

I'm sorry I am not in a place right now to tell you the exact version the F-35 needs. Maybe someone else here can help you with that. You would need the 32 bit (x86) versions since FSX is a 32 bit program.

90% of the time the installer will include them for you if they are required. You can always install the aircraft again and see if that helps.

Errrr...When "Hover" is blue, you DID click on it didn't you? If that does not work, something is definitely wrong.
