Yes may have to hook up something else dead give away if there is no issues then, if that's the problem you may have to dig on the net on how to get it working.

Could be right.....this TV is an LED...I've never had an LED before. The other I have is and LCD.

 

I believe the LED refers to the backlighting - it is still an LCD panel.. so hard to see why that would change the display... would be interested to hear what finally is the culprit.
