I have enjoyed reading this topic. The problem I have is that the original "rule" is that your six cannot be modified. Some of the aircraft I enjoy flying most I probably wouldn't fly at all if it weren't for Reality-XP. A prime example is the PMDG B1900; without JetLine2 I probably wouldn't fly this much if at all, but with JL2 it's one of my favorites. So following the rules, my six are:1) DF Archer2) FSD Seneca3) FSD Navajo4) Aeroworx B200And that's really it. I own a bunch of other payware aircraft that I just don't fly much. I highly anticipate that the FSD SkyMaster and the Aeroworx Caravan will be added to the list when they're released. The only other piece of software that I would add to that list is not an aircraft, but scenery enhancer: USA Roads.

Here's mine :1 - Tupolev Tu-154B2 by Project Tupolev2 - Concorde by SSTSIM (Published by KochMedia)3 - DC-9 by Stellan Hilmerby4 - Yakovlev Yak-40 by SCDS 5 - Tupolev Tu-154M by IGFLY6 - SF260 by RealAirMichael

ooops, wrong click, sorry

Very very difficult to answer, but this is what I fly most often1. Stellan Hillmersby's awesome DC-9 with Jet City liveries ... probably the most excellent a/c available ... my opinion ... always a challenge, detailed, very by the book ... I even bought a DC-9 AOM to really get into the details. Usually fly Airborne or another frieght livery.2. RFP 747-200 ... for those times when I can have 2-3 hours of flying time ... RFP is extremely well done and detailed and a challenge. Always fly a freighter livery.3. the PMDG 737's for those times when I just want to fly the easy way4. The F1 Golden Eagle 421... always a great, consistent ride and very fun to fly.5. The DF Cessna Cardinal ... for those times when I want to fly lo and slo and do some sight-seeing. If I only have a half hour to fly, this is perfect for a little practice and a few circuits.6. Oleksiy Frolov's Dash 8 for a regional airliner challenge ... hard to make a choice between the Dash and Espen O's seriously excellent F50 (so I am cheating)I have bought most everything available and have modified almost everything, ALMOST ... but those above stand by themselves without the need for serious mods.Sooooooooo many wonderful pieces of software ... so very little time to enjoy them all.

Amen! I am glad we are not limited to how many planes you can have installed at one time. If the hard drive will hold them, they will be istalled...:D

1) Convair 240 - Nothing like the sound of radials to wake you up.2) AC 680 - Nothing like a good hand-flyer.3) Hawker Hunter - Nothing like a screaming jet to keep you going.4) Boeing 737-200 (Cantu) - Nothing like a screaming jet to keep you going. :)5) Eaglesoft B400A - Nothing like flying a bizjet that seems to like flying inverted as much as it likes flying upright. :) (BTW - I've been told by the guys in the USAF that fly the T-1A that the plane is perfectly capable of inverted flight, and they do fly inverted on occasion as part of the advanced flight course).6) Howard 500 - Nothing like the sound of radials put on a tiny airplane to wake you up. :)

1. Flight 1 Cessna 421C2. Lancair Legacy (freeware)3. Beech Baron 58 (default)4. Uh...5. Um...6. Yeah...:D I'm currently saving up for the Flight 1 441 Conquest II. As soon as I get it, it'll go on the list. :)I'm a HUGE fan of light twins (Cessna 330, 421, Baron 58...) but not really the turboprops - so my choices are easy. :D BTW - yes, I know the 441 is a turbo prop. :D

Interesting you mentioned this, I've also dropped most of my addons for just my favourite aircraft for each category lately. (btw I have far too much payware for my own good so these are the best out there IMO - just note I hate having to click for 30 minutes to start up lol) ...Single Engine - Flight1 172R (may be new but it's simply superb!)Bush Plane - Aerosoft Beaver (so much variety in one package!)Twin Piston - Currently vacant, thinking of the FSD AerostarTwin Turboprop - PMDG 1900 (flies wonderfully, looks great, sounds great!)Executive Jet - Eaglesoft Citation II (perfect sounds, easy to hand fly, perfect for shorter runs)Passenger Jet - PMDG 737NG 6/7/8/900 (no fs installation is complete without it!)

Wow, so many good planes, so little time.1. PMDG 737 NG series. I love the way these planes handle when flying by hand. They have weight and inertia that seems to have eluded the Capt. Sim 727.2. Conquest II from Flight 1. This plane is a just a joy to fly. It is very stable on approach, and it slips nicely into landing configuration if you follow the throttle settings suggested in the handbook. The 2d panel is excellent, and the VC is not bad either. 3. MAMM DC-3 package. Wonderful sounds, absolutely terrific panels and great handling. Very easy to fly. These are the planes I keep loading up again and again. Honorable mentions:1. DF 310 - a challenge but a lot of fun. Perhaps my favorite panel and cockpit of the batch. 2. Jet City DC-9 pack with the IK DC-9 panel from flight 1. I really like the panel feature which allows you to click on a set of expanded basic flight instruments.

Wow, I was surprised at most responses---not very many commercial jets or military props/jets! Anyone tried the Hawker Hurricane IIA from R. Sanderson? Awesome! How about the Mustangs from Shigeru Tanaka? Or the Wings Of Power B-17s? Also love the MAAM SIM B-25 Briefing Time and Copley P-38s? So many planes so little time! I can't do just six planes. (conversely, I sweat a lot)

Eric, nice idea for a discussion. (...bumping the thread up the chain so others can join in the fun.)This is a hard choice as many different aircraft are simply excellent in their own way. And we all vary so much in how we use FS. That being said, here's this man's personal choices:Low & SlowReal Air Siai Marchetti SF.260 Best handflyer/tourer in FSdom. Gold-standard flight dynamics. Great cockpit, visibility, instruments. VFR King.FSD Seneca V Great "Personal" Twin for cross country flights. Combines VFR/IFR capability.FlightOne C172R Terrific VC & Instruments for pattern work and flights "in the neighborhood".Getting ThereAeroworx B200 Excellent all around aircraft. Best VC for IFR. Good sampling of real workload for fun of flight.Eaglesoft Citation II A "personal" Bizjet that one might imagine flying for oneself--rather than working for someone else.FSD Piper Cheyenne LS400 Charismatic Classic! Fast world tourer, not to mention RTW Racer. This aircraft has FS history on its side.Lots of other favorites, too. Sort of like asking a father "which child do you like best?" We are lucky to have so many terrific opportunities from which we may choose. My thanks to the superb developers who have given so much to the community.Best,Mike
