January 28, 201313 yr We tempt fate every time we start up FSX. It's like a ticking bomb. One day......"boom." Ain't that the truth ! I discovered another wrinkle to this. I lost the Buttkicker again, and after some experimentation, I found the magic combination of settings was: FSX Settings/Sound: Voice and Aircraft set to Plantronics Headset W7 Control Panel/Sound: Mic Default set to Plantronics, Speakers Default set to (USB sound adapter driving) the Buttkicker. Again, not sure how specific this is to my config or the fact that VAC is installed (though I'm not explicitly using it). I'm guessing that the fact that both the Plantronics headset and the Lindy USB adapter are both plug and play (and therefore probably using the same driver) may also be a factor. One interesting side effect of these settings though is that one of my other addons which supplies co-pilot voices etc now literally talks out of my Butt ! Tweaking that now . . .
January 28, 201313 yr Well, I tried the settings posted in your guide and I still get some crackling and popping, although maybe slightly lesser so, but it does indeed seem to be related to performance. The heavier areas tend to cause it more readily, but it's passable. Still worth the money, and actually works fantastically in all my other games. Train sim is particularly impressive. - Aaron

November 9, 201312 yr Commercial Member We test our ButtKicker Gamer 2 audio control plugged directly into the headset output of a dedicated Sound Blaster X-Fi Go PRO USB sound card (about the same size as a USB pen) with absolutely no problems at all. Simplicity itself. See our OpusFSX_ButtKicker.pdf document available on our website.
