January 23, 201313 yr If there was no PMDG I would of stopped using FSX years ago. I am so pleased we have this developer. Keithy George
January 23, 201313 yr Success well deserved and quite a few years have gone by since that initial release of the Boeing 757 for Fly. Fly + PMDG Boeing 757 + scenery generator from Todd Klaus was "as good as it gets" at that time. I so much look forward to see what Robert and company can do with 64bit X-Plane. Here's hoping it's the NGX Floyd Stolle www.stollco.com
January 23, 201313 yr I pressed for time and cant listen to the full hour, can anyone provide the highlights? I am curious to know, thanks! Don't blame me if I forgot something! The 777 is will be released this year. It has the same level of detail as the NGX and improvements. It will come without EFB because high license costs (thousands per year per costumer or so...). The price will be slightly higher than the NGX, but it won't be a price we wouldn't expect from PMDG. They want to do the tail camera, but since it's only in the -300 which has one and the -200 will be released firstly, it has no priority. Half of the new 747 is done. It's based on the same platform as the NGX. -400 base package, -8i expansion. Btw, it's Rob's favourite plane, so we don't have to worry about details DC-6 won't come before the 777 comes, but will also be released this year. They think about doing the DC-3 afterwards. I think these are the highlights, did I miss something? Anton Meier
January 24, 201313 yr No, it does not have the same level. I would argue the 777x will have a greater level of simulation than the NGX. For an EFB I believe the price was about 2-3K a year. The NGX was set "low" as a gift to us apparently for having to wait 5 years lol My bet is the 777x will go for 80-90 dollars. Didn't Rob say the taxi cam may come on the -300? "Half" was a very large ballpark figure lol Not really same platform, an improvement of it. The NGX was a new start for PMDG. the 777x thus far should good but given the 744 is Robs little favorite, I'm willing to say he may pull a few stops for that one. He spoke about other platforms, and how to use improved coding techniques to work about the 32bit memory barrier. He said the simming community looks good and he's excited and confident going into it. He said a 787 isn't even being considered at this point.
January 24, 201313 yr Are there much difference between 777-200 and -300 regarding avionics and systems? Edit : Found it http://www.cherhillphoto.co.uk/resources/300-Differences.pdf Not much of a difference, there's different speeds for Flap Operation, TailStrike Protection Software, and some other minor stuff Alexis Mefano
January 24, 201313 yr When asked if they were developing an Airbus, he had no comment at this time. Very interesting William Coade
