I think it sucks big time, not El Hierro, it looks great, had my eye on this "project" since last July, but it was billed as Canary Islands X.

 

Yes they only showed El Hierro but when Mathijs Kok was asked "Looks awesome, as I'm not familiar with this region, which airports will be included?" his reply was "All islands all airports. ".

The Topic is now closed and all I can see looking round is this is the first Island to come out with no clue to how long the others will be, if they take 6+ months to make one if not the smallest island how long to one of the large ones come out?

 

El Hierro looks great but it's a local airport Binter fly in and out of there to other Canary Island but the problem is there are no other Islands Done.

Canary Island X = Dream come true, but as it stands it's a waste of time ATM.

 

Very disappointed to see "Canary Islands X released" Not true fux advertising if you ask me.

 

The Canary Islands are 7 Islands not one. "Canary Islands X released" it's just not true.

Hey Dave, I agree with what you say, but if you look at the pirce, about £13 that is pretty amazing. As for another payware island to fly to, have you not got Madeira? Then you should get it matey, it makes a nice trip from there to the Canaries. I have a freeware airport of Gran Canaria from Sim Giants and it's excellent. But with this little scenery, especially at 0.25cm/pixel, it sounds like great value. Nevertheless, I will wait to hear some feedback before parting with my cash.

Unless the next release is more than 1 airport/island, the whole package is going to work out a little steep for my liking.

 

I have no problem paying/supporting the developer who makes my hobbie more interesting, but i dont like being Milked.

Hey Spook, me old flower, how do you get £13 as being a bit expensive for an airport and an entire island. Most airports alone are half as much again. But as I said, I will wait and see, 'cos at the back of my mind I think there is a reason why it is that price and it may be down to poor autogen on the rest of the island, a little like Santorini... or maybe just not very good... we'll see... But I do see your point, 'cos yes, it will be very expensive should you want to get all the islands.

I think I might soon install all the Canary Islands sceneries again and start flying around there, nowadays I don't often have enough time to do longer flights so Canary Islands would be great place to fly some shorter island hopping.

That was Tenerife North Los Rodeos airport where those collided, both of them were originally flying to Gran Canaria airport but had to divert because of a bomb exploded and closed the airport.

Not quite right. Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura as well as both Tenerife North and Tenerife South airports have over 3000 meter long runways. Tenerife North was the place of the accident by the way.

 

Then there is Lanzarote with a 2400 meter runway.

I see now , the reason i ask was because not to long ago i did flight to one of those island an i didn't know the runway was to short for me to land my 747. So i was on holding pattern just circling around the airport not knowing what to do. So after few attempts for landing i just give up an flew else where .

Another thing, if you want to know if your aircraft can land at certain airports, you can use Google to find airport charts and information about who flies where with what equipment, and aircraft performance etc. Great, isn't it!?
