January 31, 201313 yr You can also give FlightSimCommander a try. Works fine for taxiways, and it's cheaper than EFB. You can also get a "demo" version from http://www.fscommander.com which is limited by the fact it cannot save flightplans and you can only run it for 30 minutes at a time (although you can run it as many times as you want !!) January 31, 201313 yr Author You can also give FlightSimCommander a try. Works fine for taxiways, and it's cheaper than EFB. http://en.shop.aeros...anguage=english Thanks, I will check it as well before making a purchase, since you have it, can I run the application whilst am in the full screen mode? Im running a single PC for FSX. Can you set the order for taxi ways? like, say I landed on Vatsim, and ground ATC said, gate 14 via taxi way L K NP, can I enter it this way? I sound a bit confusing when trying to explain myself, lol.. Basically the question is, does it only guide to the gate randomly, or can I assign which taxi ways I would like to go by? Appreciate your time.. A quick look at the taxi signs should get you sorted. They may initially look confusing, but a quick study online of what the different colors and arrows mean will do wonders. You won't need top down views, or EFBs, or anything (though still having a taxi chart handy will help). As far as routes go, have a look at the first link in my signature for a tutorial on making your own plans. If you're flying US Routes and you want to use the most up to date route, use FlightAware. Thank you for your link, will definitely go through it.. Regarding taxing, I have got a good idea how to navigate through it and do have the charts, but the default airport don't have all the taxi way signs. I have fly tampa Dubai and its amazing, you get the painted taxi way on the taxi way it self and the yellow taxi signs on the side. Also for example, when I fly out of EGKK when its busy, I often get a initial hold at N1 via K N, so neither N taxi way or N1 holding points are marked, although I can see them on the charts, but no taxi way signs, its a bit hard to see with low visibility and night flying. But thanks for your inout and links on the routing!
January 31, 201313 yr Well, I have two monitors, so I run FSX on my main display and stuff like FSCommander or IvAp on the secondary. If you only have a single monitor, I guess you would need to downsize the FSCommander window and place it somewhere "on top" of FSX, toggling with Alt+Tab. You can select each taxiway that the controller tells you to taxi on, and they will be highlighted on the airport diagram. And of course, your aircraft position is shown as well, as long as FSCommander is connected to your FlightSim. But again, I can't really judge how handy it will be in a single monitor setup, I'm afraid. Stefan Keller

January 31, 201313 yr I use the moving map feature of FSC 9.0 for the taxiways and runways at the airport. If you dont have that, but you have the charts just use the taxiway signs that are in FS. follow them as you need. If they arent displaying in FS then just change the grpahics settings to a higher place to get them on. ~Remy Quote "The Skies the limit" Remy Mermelstein 777-300 FS Pilot, Deltava P3Dv4.1, ASP4, UTLive, ReShade + URP + PTA, All settings max'd, i7 Core Extreme @ 5.2gHz, GTX 1080, CyberpowerPC Gaming Laptop, 500GB SSDx2, 32GB DDR4 RAM.
