February 12, 201313 yr I'll take it. I'll even pay shipping for you! Do not judge people until you've walked a mile in their shoes. Then at least you are a mile ahead of them when you ###### them off...
February 16, 201313 yr Author hey guys, after MAJOR tweaking I finally got blurries to start to disappear even at 500 knots! But it seems to be a tad slow, what I mean by this? Suppose I'm flying at 500 knots, textures seem to be pretty clear, but when I press pause they load even clearer! Is this any tweak to make them sharp all the time? I've tried Nicks guides, as well as setting up nvidia inspector. Isn't this " lagg " supposed to disappear with an ssd? ;S. Could raising the Texturemaxload from 30 benefit? Also do I need to add the swap_timeout line to my cfg? Last question , when I use fps limiter and check frames within game it still seems to go up to 40 fps even though there locked at 35?
February 16, 201313 yr You could try adding the following to your fsx.cfg [JOBSCHEDULER] AffinityMask=14 Essentially with your i5 cpu it will force FSX to use cores 1-3 leaving core 0 free to look after the applications running outside of FSX, it may slow down load times but help increase FPS. If your page file is on your SSD and your SSD is running out of space or is defragmented then yes system performance could deffinately suffer as a result. Defragging is not reccomended for SSDs but there is a free utility called Ultradefrag which works well if you need to optimise space on drives.

Do you mean textures? I haven't had any problems with fps.. only with textures
February 16, 201313 yr I'm running a 4 year old machine with zero tweaks and a new 680Ti with Windows 8 64 bit and FSX is running the best it ever has. I used FS since it's inception and have latley come to believe that many or most of the tweaks are wishful thinking and a placebo at best. IMHO.

Thank you for the report, you can try increasing FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION= to greater then default of .33 at the expense of frame rates. I think when you fly too fast in FSX, blurries are unavoidable w/o a monster overclocked computer, and even then  come to believe that many or most of the tweaks are wishful thinking and a placebo at best I am considering joining this club 80P Regards; Fritz
February 20, 201313 yr Author i managed to get most blurries out, but some are still there at around 500 knots plus. I got a new water cooler pre ordered, and am hoping to push my ivy bridge chip to 4.8ghz. Would this make textures load faster? What are some benefits of such a high oc just for fsx. February 21, 201313 yr What are some benefits of such a high oc just for fsx. In my opinion, you can achieve modest improvements from overtaxing your processor at the risk of ending it's life prematurely. Faster is better, but only if you have configured properly. Regards; Fritz
