February 17, 201313 yr I've had a Warthog for some time but stuck with my much loved HOTAS COUGAR until it broke last week. So having pensioned my Trusty thrusty off I dug out my unused Warthog that I bought some time ago and had been keeping for such a situation. Here is my question: I want to apply FSX reverse thrust when I lift the throttles over the low detent to the Cut-off position but I don't know of any event name for this. I know of the IDLERON & IDLELON flags available but they come on in the idle position before the throttle are lifted over to the cut-off position. Anyone got any ideas please? John Rig: Gigabyte B550 AORUS Master Motherboard, AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT CPU, 32GB DDR4 Ram, Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super Graphics, Samsung Odyssey wide view display (5120 x 1440 pixels) with VSYNC on.
February 17, 201313 yr What are you going to fly with this? Don't remember the hog having reversers. Map another switch on the TQ to F2 key for the reverser function in FSX.
February 17, 201313 yr Have You tried IDLEROFF or IDLELOFF mapped to F1 and then F2-hold keys? Bartłomiej Ender
February 17, 201313 yr Same question was asked here, and answered by me :-) http://forum.avsim.n...gx/page__st__25 Bottom of the throttles are actual buttons, they don't count as "axis" so you need to assign those 2 buttons via FSUIPC and it works beautifully :-) What are you going to fly with this? Map another switch on the TQ to F2 key for the reverser function in FSX. Obviously he is going to fly any aircraft that has reverser's mate Default 737-800 has them.. You don't have a Warthog do you? If you did, you would know how AWESOME it is, and would really want the reverse thrust to be in the right place, plus of course, all the other switches are all labelled/named, so it kinda spoils it a LOT to go naming another switch... I am trying to do the reverse thrust trick using the Target software. I am sure that Thrustmaster have an intrinsic function tucked away somewhere. They mentioned the IDELON and IDLEOFF events when I wrote to them but that only flags the spot before the rear detent not behind the rear detent. Still any solution to the problem is welcome. Thank you. BTW I mainly fly the Feelthere ERJs and had the thrust reversers down pat on my HOTAS Cougar and I would willingly swap my Warthog for a fix to my Cougar Throttle and it Buttons any day especially as I had the evenstrain mod and the FETS fitted to my Cougar. February 18, 201313 yr Use LINDA and FSUIPC. I have mine setup perfectly and I love it! Nick Hatchel "Sometimes, flying feels too godlike to be attained by man. February 18, 201313 yr Me too, and I haven't touched Linda at all, nor do I use, and have never installed the T.A.R.G.E.T software... FSUIPC seems to be able to handle all of it just fine :-) Richard... Amateur Pilot and UK Web Hosting Guru 🙂
February 20, 201313 yr Yellowjack, did you get the reversers sorted ? A very simple and effective method is to go to options/Settings/controls. Choose the throttle and click on Buttons and Switches /Engines. Scroll down to THROTTLE (decrease quickly) F2. Click that, then New Assignment, then lift the throttle over the detent. Make sure the repeat slider is fully right. That's it. The reversers should now work perfectly. /Russell.
February 20, 201313 yr Author Thanks guys but I can now confirm that the IDLERON, IDLEROFF, IDLELON and IDLELOFF functions in TARGET do the reverse thrust job nicely. I now have a basic TARGET Profile up and running with one jet flight under my belt. Still a way to go in order to flesh it out and refine it. I wanted to use TARGET rather than FSUIPC for my keys because of its increased flexibility and self documenting nature. There was also the fact that I couldn't find a TARGET profile for FSX. anywhere so it was a mountain to climb (allright maybe an anthill then?). I will put a copy of my profile in the Avsim Library after it is fully developed and tested. Being a HOTAS COUGAR owner from way back I got used to doing my own profile thing. For the FSUIPC believers would you care to share how FSUIPC can control the Warthog Throttle lights? February 21, 201313 yr how FSUIPC can control the Warthog Throttle lights? The green lighting can be controlled? Richard... Amateur Pilot and UK Web Hosting Guru 🙂
February 21, 201313 yr The green lighting can be controlled? Positive. You can control it in T.A.R.G.E.T., I am not sure if it will be possible outside of it. Bartłomiej Ender
February 21, 201313 yr Author Can you change the colour? No, they are green Leds. John Rig: Gigabyte B550 AORUS Master Motherboard, AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT CPU, 32GB DDR4 Ram, Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super Graphics, Samsung Odyssey wide view display (5120 x 1440 pixels) with VSYNC on.
