February 24, 201313 yr Hm, I am so thick, can't seem to find the option file where this goes... Directions? Thanks, Regards,
February 24, 201313 yr Commercial Member You can find them here. Vista/Windows 7:/8 C:\users\username\appdata\roaming\hifi\AS2012\Options\FSXOptions.cfg XP: C:\documents and settings\username\appdata\hifi\AS2012\Options\FSXOptions.cfg Backup your cfg file first. You might want to change the settings in the UI but you should be able to copy and paste this in. Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager

March 4, 201313 yr Dave: ForceDestinationWeatherZone = False....wouldn't this cause destination weather to be innaccurate even when flying with a flight plan in ASE? The destination wxr would be blended with surrounding wxr stn data and could update on approach (as ASE would not 'lock' to the flight plan destination) causing additional issues? Thanks. Rob Hall. System specs: Dual core E6300 (1.86g X 2), 2gb RAM, nvidea7800GT, Saitek yoke, CH throttle (6 lever), Soundblaster live.Add-ons: FSX: LDS767, FSL Concorde, FT E175/195, PMDG 747X/737X, Active Sky E, some freeware airports.Human specs: Desktop simulation since FS1, beta tester (LDS, FSL), 737NG simulator tech (Threshold Aviation), r sole+.

Hi, Regarding ASE Force Destination Wx Zone: Selecting this option instructs ASE to force all weather stations to your present destination conditions when you are within 80nm. Using this feature, you can start to see your final weather earlier and provides for less surprise on final approach, where conditions might have normally been much different. You must have a flight plan loaded for this feature to enable. In AS2012 this starts at 128 miles. Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager

Hi Dave - I was wondering why you have your option setting for Destination set to false...what benefit does that have? March 8, 201313 yr Commercial Member Hi Dave - I was wondering why you have your option setting for Destination set to false...what benefit does that have?At TOD if I know I'll be descending thru a wx front or something and my dest wx is clear or CAVOK I don't want my weather on the way down to be the same. Expect the unexpected. :-) Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager
March 13, 201313 yr Dave, I just downloaded the latest update, I am still using your settings from up top this thread.

Are there factors regarding the new update that makes some of these settings not recommended anymore?

Also, I fly only online, on Vatsim, therefore I enable the Vatsim weather, but... ahchem... I am not sure what it actually does?

Could it be that when enabled AS2012 syncs with Vatsim destination so in case Vatsim are slowing behind from rw / noaa, I will have the same wx as the controller?

Thanks, you guys are just awesome, love AS2012, just fire-and-forget, and it always amazes me with near perfect depiction!
March 16, 201313 yr Commercial Member No not really, I started experimenting with Local Writes with DWC running networked to see if I like it better or not. It seems to smooth out the transitions a little better. Other then that I haven't changed anything. Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager
March 16, 201313 yr Thanks Dave, I had a flight from UK to Iceland this evening and I had a great combo of clouds in combination with a great sunset, I am so happy with AS now, can't see how it can be better. But I am sure you will continue to amaze us Have a great weekend mate
