March 5, 201313 yr I thought there was one for Win 7 and one for Vista and that's it. Unfortunately, I can't really remember where I downloaded it and what exact version it was.Have you looked at this one? http://www.chip.de/d...r_31709612.html Which of the various language packs you use, however, depends on your operating system. If you say you have Win 7 64bit including all updates, you should have SP1 as well. Right-click on "Computer", select "Eigenschaften" and see if you have SP1 or not. Thanks a lot! I'll give that a try! I'd really like to buy and use NGX emergency. One can make full use of all the features of the fantastic NGX!
March 5, 201313 yr Author Actually guys, my initial impressions have been replaced with a positive interest. Only today, while flying on an Airbus funnily enough, was I reading about the failures option in the NGX. I actually have been won over... I think it may well be cool to have random failures initialised into the NGX, so as to perhaps fail every ten hours or something like that. I certainly would not want to fly the NGX knowing that I was going to encounter a failure on every flight, but sure, I can see how the software would introuduce an element of surprise and suspense to a flight. Good to see Howard! That would be my point precisely....we have the option to invoke random failures........there's nothing more "realistic" than that I reckon. One more question: Is it possible to have the speech recognition set to English and the rest of the OS to German? I downloaded and installed the English language lack with the Vistalizator, but as soon as I start the speech recognition, an error pops up stating that the system language has to be changed too in order to get speech recognition working...
March 7, 201313 yr One more question: Is it possible to have the speech recognition set to English and the rest of the OS to German? I downloaded and installed the English language lack with the Vistalizator, but as soon as I start the speech recognition, an error pops up stating that the system language has to be changed too in order to get speech recognition working... Hi Michael, You might have missed a step here. You say you "downloaded and installed the English language pack". But after that, did you actually change the OS language to 'English US' in Vistalizator by selecting "English" from the "Installed languages" list and then clicking "Change language"? It is definitely possible to have the speech recognition language set to 'English - US' whilst having the OS language set to German. Here's my setup: If I remember correctly (it's been quite a while), these were the steps: - Install Vistalizator - Install English language pack for your OS version - Change OS language to English via Vistalizator (I used the 'Express' option) - Change Windows speech recognition language to 'English - US' - Train the speech recognition - Change OS language back to German via Vistalizator - Doublecheck that Windows speech recognition language is set to 'English - US' Hope this helps, Stefan Stefan Keller
March 7, 201313 yr Thanks a lot for your detailed answer, Stefan! You're absolutely right, I haven't done the last step, changing back to German via Vistalizator, just yet. I'll try that tonight. I got FS2Crew Voice Control and Emergency NGX! already working, and I did a few tests last night. And all I can say so far is WOW! What a fantastic add on! Now, I can really train and practise all the abnormals, just as real pilots do in the full flight simulators. It lets me enjoy the superb NGX to the fullest! I really hope that there will be an Emergency T7 too!
March 7, 201313 yr Emergency is a must have for the NGX - It will bring a new learning curve and a shortcut to experience new things in the complicated systems to life . I would really like AOA to make explaining videos showing workflow but also explaining why we would switch the GPWS inhibit to off etc etc . Michael Moe
March 9, 201313 yr Commercial Member For the Germans and other non-anglos, in addition to Vistalizator, your best bet is to get Windows 8. It allows you to install the 'English - US' language set very easily. I really want to see the video of it in action. Their 2 minute trailer has about 10 sec of real footage This guy is making training videos: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/401919-emergency-ngx-videos/ We've also got another video under production that shows a full fire scenario.
