MFD's/CDU displays black with green X on start up?

Featured Replies

All of a sudden in the last week my MD-11 now on start up has an issue.  All the MFD's and CDU's remain black with green "X" across them as if they are not on.  But I am loading the default "ready for taxi" type panel.

I've tried to find in the manuals where maybe a switch or Avionics system might be off and everything is on.  Tried to reload the program and do the "repair" when loading MD-11 again, still have the same cockpit configuration.

I've done nothing to my computer, last flight I did with the MD-11 was a few weeks ago and it loaded in the ready state for taxi with all systems running.  What is the problem??

Thanks,

Rob

Hello ROB

Sorry to for the trouble , But there is no ready for taxi option there is before start up and after start up , cold and dark . the other thing there should be RED X , and when this happens it means your engines are out but APU power is runing or external power is on

My recommendation is make sure you have the Patch From PMDG , and try to Load a Complete Dark and cold and when you get it up and running Save your panel State

hop this help there will be Much more advanced People here that will give you a much better advice then me , But for now you can try this out

Hi Rob,

Green X's are part of the pirating protection. I do not want to say that you are a pirate, but I expect there is a problem with the activation of your PMDG MD-11.

I think you should open a suport ticket, as I am sure they will be able to fix it.

Best regards,

Well I have loaded all the patches for the MD-11 from when they were published.  The aircraft worked fine up until about a week ago.  Now for the Activation issue, that is interesting because its been activated long ago.  What could have happened that would have changed that?

Maybe I should just remove it and reload it from scratch?

You could try the repair option first with the installer. Perhaps it will fix/add the registry entry.

Already tried that last night.  This is odd.  Thanks,

Check that you have FLEXnet Licensing running in your Services. If you don'y then you have a licence issue and nmay have to submit a ticket to PMDG Support.

If you have recently installed the VRS Tacpack for the VRS FA18E disable Tacpack and see what happens.  Open your Tacpack Configuration Manager, under the Preferences tab click "never" under the Tacpack loading options, then click "save" and exit.

I had same issue. Opened a support ticket. Verified my purchase and then had to complete reinstall. You have to remove all liveries and once uninstalled remove both PMDG directories in the aircraft folder and the PMDG folder. Then reinstall.
