March 15, 201313 yr Hi out there, I am quite sure that this was asked before but I could not find a working answer. You know the HEAD MOVEMENT of FSX camera caused by the momentum of the moving plane. I am looking for a possibility to eliminate this completely but I do not have success. this movements are very annoying cause the panels are drifting away - stupid if you use touch screens - anyway stupid at all - no idea why it was implemented in FSX anyway. What I did with no success: in fsx.cfg - all DAYNAMIC HEAD MOVEMENT parameters to 0 in camera.cfg (same folder as fsx.cfg) - cam02 Virtual Caockpit - momentum=0 nothing changed then I searched for all cams cam.cfg in fsx root folder - cam02 Virtual Cockpit - momentum=0 cam.cfg in SP folder - cam02 Virtual Cockpit - momentum=0 airplane.cfg in the simobjects/airplane/(for eample) PMDG MD11 - cam0x Virtual Cockpit - momentum=0 nothing helped still this Head movement if the plane is moving Funny thing is that I remember that it was not there all time - it occurred maybe by adding an addon. I remember that one day I recognized that the panel is drifting away, what I did not recognized before. So maybe somebody knows what to do, I would be very glad to get help on this issue. Kind Regards Tom
March 15, 201313 yr "Disable pilot head motion within FSX." (No further explanation given.) Weird: Sounds like an option from the general FSX settings. Otherwise I'd have found a description on how to achieve this ... And here we go: http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/showthread.php?182332-Virtual-Cockpit-head-movement Edited March 15, 201313 yr by olli4740 What happened to AVSIM
March 15, 201313 yr Author I know this Topic but as I said in my initial mail - I did all that canges but it does not help. Cheers Tom
March 15, 201313 yr The topic mentions a camera.cfg also in your documents\...\ folder. Still no love? What happened to AVSIM
March 15, 201313 yr Author yes I changed it before - you mean in the same folder where to find the FSX.cfg no love at all Tom
March 15, 201313 yr I'm at my wits' end now - might try myself this evening (MEZ), since it annoys me, too, in my VCs. Will report back here - if it'll fix it for me, you probably screwed up a few of your files manually ... What happened to AVSIM
March 15, 201313 yr I managed to switch head movement off strictly "by the book". The syntax within that camera.cfg was unusual: It's MomentumEffect = No with two space characters around the " = ". Maybe it defaults to "Yes" in case you miss one of those? (Just guessing anymore ...) What happened to AVSIM
March 15, 201313 yr Author Actually I am quite sure that a syntax with or without space does not count in a xx.cfg file. Anyway I gave it a try: MomentumEffect = No - no result MomentumEffect=No - no result I changed it in all camera.cfg I found and in the chosen aircraft in this case a PNDG MD11. Tom
March 15, 201313 yr - anyway stupid at all - no idea why it was implemented in FSX anyway. Not stupid at all.
March 15, 201313 yr Author @Musart please answer only if you can help I do not need your religion it is heavy enough to work agianst all this FSX bugs or not fully programmed parts of this old and piece of software. What do you think are people doing who are programming for FSX - they almost always looking for workarounds for a no more supported application. So if you can help, please do.... Cheers Tom
March 15, 201313 yr In fsx.cfg change to this: [DynamicHeadMovement]HeadMoveTimeConstant=0.000000LonAccelOnHeadLon=-0.000000LonAccelOnHeadPitch=-0.000000MaxHeadAngle=0.000000MaxHeadOffset=0.000000RollAccelOnHeadLat=0.000000RollAccelOnHeadRoll=0.000000YawAccelOnHeadLat=-0.000000 Kind regardsR.G
March 15, 201313 yr Author In fsx.cfg change to this: [DynamicHeadMovement] HeadMoveTimeConstant=0.000000 LonAccelOnHeadLon=-0.000000 LonAccelOnHeadPitch=-0.000000 MaxHeadAngle=0.000000 MaxHeadOffset=0.000000 RollAccelOnHeadLat=0.000000 RollAccelOnHeadRoll=0.000000 YawAccelOnHeadLat=-0.000000 Thnx Rodd, I tried all this before with no result. March 15, 201313 yr Are you sure that it's dynamic head movement causing the problem and not perhaps turbulence effects or some other motion effect addon such as accufeel? Barry Friedman
March 15, 201313 yr Author Are you sure that it's dynamic head movement causing the problem and not perhaps turbulence effects or some other motion effect addon such as accufeel? 100% sure - no ACCUFEEL, no EZCAM, no OPUS - I do test it on the ground just taxi in a circle to see if the effect is still there - in the air it is worse. Tom
March 15, 201313 yr I managed to switch head movement off strictly "by the book". (...) After that I took off in my PMDG MD-11: The head movement was still off, for sure! Any other device that might intervene? Just to say something weird again: TrackIR?!? What happened to AVSIM
