March 15, 201313 yr Hello, I was going to check to see if upgrade pricing is still available for the 747-400. I purchased it for FS9 prior to the release of FSX and have been putting off switching over. I am now ready to make the switch and was wondering if there is any discount on the FSX version for customers who have the FS9 version. I appreciate the help. Anthony
March 15, 201313 yr no they don't offer it I tried for the MD11 to buy FS9 as I have FSX no they said
March 15, 201313 yr Commercial Member There was a brief period around the time they released it where it was discounted to encourage people to make the jump, but they stopped offering it thereafter. For what it's worth, I'd just wait until the 744 V2.0 comes out. Kyle Rodgers
March 15, 201313 yr At this late stage, and with the 747v2 not too far off, I'd wait for it. I loved the 747 in FSX I must admit, and the majority of my time on Vatsim is with the 747-400 (though 15 hour flights does that - I suspect I'v done more actual flights in the 737, but at 1 hour a pop the time hasn't caught up to the 747). But compared to the NGX (and even the MD11) the 747 is starting to feel old and clunky, especially manipulating the MCP in the Virtual Cockpit. Compared to the MD11 and especially NGX, It's almost night and day. ... and 777 is starting to loom right on the horizon. I'd only buy the 744X if I had some really pressing need to use it in FSX (making for instance). March 15, 201313 yr There hasn't been an upgrade offer for the B744 for a long time. For the MD-11 it's been "either" (buy a single license for one flightsim only) "or" (buy both licenses in a bundle for both sims at the same time) right from the start. I still fancy the B744 (v1.0) a lot; there's a special atmosphere on that flightdeck. I didn't bother with the upcoming v2.0 at all when I bought the v1.0 just a few months ago. Well, you can fly your B744 in FS9 - she's the next best thing to familiarize with the upcoming B777 ... unless you have an older T7 in your FS9-hangar, of course. What happened to AVSIM

March 16, 201313 yr Author I didn't know they were doing V2, when do they expect that to be available?
March 16, 201313 yr What about 777 discounts for previous 777 (Fly! 2) customers? It's a completely new product. It shares nothing with the much older version. Why would they discount it? AJ Pongress
March 16, 201313 yr You beat me to it, StevenHPerry. @ajponggress: I'm pretty sure he was joking. Jonathan Monreal Visit A Flightsim Blog
