March 19, 201313 yr One of the truly great areas of the U.S. Lake Mead, Hoover Dam, the hill overlooking Las Vegas, Colorado River so far down in the canyon, not to mention the Grand Canyon itself which is on the north side of Lake Mead. I remember back in the day taking a couple of fellow sailors on a trip from San Diego to Las Vegas. On the way back, we flew down into the Grand Canyon. Really nice. Memories ...
