April 16, 201313 yr EDIT: I found control switches for Standby Inlet valves, that's the answer. VFE opened SI valves for collector tanks as part of preflight flow, before I was able to kick him off board. April 16, 201313 yr Very nice video. It's nigh impossible to fly single handed!!! The Vatsim ATC though was unintelligible. If you ever get to go to the Brooklands Museum SW of London you can fly the "real" Concorde simulator (by prior appointment)(PPR in aviation speak!) and have a look at the second fastest a/c to cross the Atlantic the VC10. Which still holds the record!! Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA

April 17, 201313 yr You shouldn't have ATC coming through hifi speakers. Try somthing with a very high ohm and absolutely no bass! Super VC10 into LOWI with PF3 at a cinema near you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=298UDyNmgUA
April 17, 201313 yr I use headset for vatsim comms and speakers fro FSX sounds. I always like to volume up a sound when I take off concorde, it's so powerful. Also, at my creative soundcard, there is "what you hear" option to record, so maybe you should go with that solution. April 17, 201313 yr Author I use the G930 wireless headset from Logitech. Vatsim sound comes through my headset but when you try to record Vatsim conversations, the problem is that you only get one side of the conversation so I had to improvise a work around. Hey, tell me can I shut the lines connecting collector tanks with trim lines? I played with fuel system today: I set 9 and 10 tanks full and all other tanks empty. Then, I shut all inlet valves and turn on pumps in tanks 9 and 10. Fuel started to flow from 9 and 10 to collector tanks. If you look at schematic of fuel system, indeed trim system is connected with collector tanks, and there are valves, but there are no control for that valves. I wonder if I can shut those valves and prevent fuel from trim system to flow there? There is one more observation. At schematic, beside main inlets, there are "auxiliary" lines and valves (with no control) from trim lines to tanks 5 and 7, and with common sense logic, I expected when I fill collector tanks, fuel will continue to flow to tanks 5 and 7, but no. Once, collector tanks are full, fuel flow stops. If the inlets are closed then no fuel will go from 9, 10 or 11 to the collector tanks 1,2,3,4 unless you have the inlets open to tanks 5 or 7. I don't see the auxiliary lines. Can you post a pic? Mark CYYZ

Yes, there are 9 standby inlets (I noted them as "axillary"), as you can see at this screenshot: And there are 9 standby inlet switches as you can see here: Note that there is no MIs for standby inlet valves 5-8, I dont know why. And if you look at this scheme, there is noted that you cannot transfer fuel from trim system to tanks 6 and 8 even if there are standby inlet valves for these two tanks (I don't know why): Lj. April 17, 201313 yr Author I understand so Standby Inlets=Aux Inlets. If these are closed no fuel will go to the collector tanks.....unless you have open the inlets to tanks 5 & 7. If these are open then tank 9 will pump into tanks 5 & 7 and then into the collectors. Fuel cannot flow back from the collectors to any other tank unless you use the jettison pumps. Mark CYYZ
April 18, 201313 yr I forgot to add: For anyone interested in concorde operations, and insight stories, this is the best topic you should read: Epic Concorde thread at PPRune The main guy is M2Dude, he was engeneer at BAW I think, and involved in powering up G-BOAC few years ago at Manchester. There are few other guys with insight stories and answered at all questions. Lj. April 20, 201313 yr Author My fuel panel video is now up. Hope you like it. I don't think I am allowed to post video links here so here is the link to my topic in the video forum. http://forum.avsim.net/topic/405513-master-the-concordex-fuel-panel-video/ Mark CYYZ
