>I'm in awe of people like you Jan, so talented. Thank you so much,Sir Douglas!!!!! (megalomanic grin :-grnmd )Jan(btw, shouldn't it be 'i'm in awe *with* people like you Jan.. ? Sorry, my native tongue is not English. Maybe i'm just megalomanic about it )

I can give him a suggestion on how to remove his whole fs9 sim!!!!!!!! If ya don't like virtual cockpits ya don't have to use them. I don't get it.

what a waste of bandwidth/electricity ,if people dont like vcs so be it, some people on these forums need to go get themselves a life instead of lurking round here all day waiting for a master debate!!

I wish I could remove this childish post, what a waste of bandwidth.Come on guys, grown upDan.

First of all thanx a lot Mr Bill, because I

Hamilton Müller

I've been a strong VC advocate since TrackIR came out but I now have a home cockpit with multiple monitors that allows me to manipulate just about any FS control there is. Fact is, I have a modest computer that simply can't handle some of the new fancy VCs (King Air 200, for example) so this news is very helpful for me. Thanks!DavidYes, I dodged all the nonsense in this thread but its original intent was good

Hmmmm, well, I read all the way through this thread (and sorry I was by the time I finished.)I'm one of "those" who does not use, or even like, 99.99999% of the VCs out there (there are a few exceptions, you know) and appreciate a nice method of ridding myself of them. For those who create such, I'm not belittling you in any way (I haven't the talent to create anything so I don't throw stones) but they just aren't for me. Give me a nice 2d panel and I'm happy. So, a thank you to Bill for pointing the way for those of us who WANT to do this; and for those who don't, well, it takes all kinds to make the world go round. :D

Thanks for the info! I find no use for virtual cockpits.

I can't understand why someone who doesnt like VC's would not just "skip" that view.Seems like using a hex editor to rip out a VC is like trying to crack a walnut with a sledgehammer.Just skip the VC viewDan.

"I

I don't want it there, nor do I want to have to "skip it," it's as simple as that. Further, I don't see how changing a number in a hex editor "is like trying to crack a walnut with a sledgehammer."Have you ever made changes to your cfg files? What's the difference?

I dont understand some of you people. Those that oppose this model edit, why? Are you like this also when the talk is about how to make a payware panel fit inside a freeware aircraft (i.e. PSS)??If people dont like a certain VC so be it thats their business.Lets not also forget the fact that on some aircraft, if you dont use the VC but only the 2D panel, it just eats up FPS as well on some aircraft.Personally I can think of at least one aircraft with a VC I would very much like to try this trick out on.Give the original poster of this trick a break and dont shoot the messenger will ya. Its not like he is offering cracked versions of .mdl files and uploads them.

I just have one last thing to add to this. I just dont see what is so hard about emailing the original author and asking for a no VC version. Keep in mind that all freeware is a gift TO YOU. That should not be taken lightly. promoting tools like this cuts against the grain of why these gifts are given away freely. You didnt build it, you didnt spend hundreds even thousands of hours working on it. It is the authors right to release a plane without fear of a hacked version showing up someplace. It seems like some are trying to make this into a VC, no VC debate. That doesnt matter, what does matter is, popularizing tools that allow modification of the original model is WRONG. If you dont like a particular model, then dont use it, and dont crap on the original author for not meeting YOUR standards. If it was just a simple fix for the MDL, i wouldnt be so passionate, but this is a Pandora's box that I refuse to let be opened. what you do on your own rig is your buisness, but promoting and encouraging the hacking of MDLs is just wrong. period.(sorry about last nights pissn contest, but I will defend myself... as you all know)later, joe
