April 4, 201313 yr OK, to update, RC4 is working in P3D. All keyboard commands are working and I can do a full flight problem-free. Hopefully this will be my last thread for a while. I noticed something strange during a flight yesterday. When talking to AI, RC4 calls "Embraer N23455 (or whatever N-number)", or "Boeing NXXxX", or "Airbus NXXX". It does not refer to the airline and flight number like it did in FS9 (i.e. United 4325). I'm using WoAI and some other freeware AI, ported over to P3D from FS9 (just copied and moved aircraft files, and converted flight plans to FSX format using AIFP). Thoughts? April 4, 201313 yr First make sure your FSUIPC4 is current from the pinned link at the page top or http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66139-updated-modules/. To see how ai are identified install free Traffic Look from: http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66136-useful-additional-programs/ That runs in a separate app in its own window and you can alt-tab between it and FS. It is a table that reports aircraft state including the radio call both of yours and ai. Check your schedules for a busy time at an airport (like a United hub) and just park and look at the table. That's the first step. There are other steps but since it happened on just switching from FS9 to P3D there might be a problem with the ai conversion (check a few of the aircraft.cfg sections from the aircraft.txt defined models like below): [fltsim.0]title=United Airlines 757-200 AIAsim=aia_757_200_pwmodel=panel=sound=texture=unitedkb_checklists=kb_reference=atc_id=atc_airline=Unitedatc_flight_number=1123ui_manufacturer=Aardvarkui_type=757-200ui_variation=United Airlinesdescription=AI Aardvark 757-200 (P&W)atc_id_color=0000000000visual_damage=0atc_heavy=1atc_parking_types=GATEatc_parking_codes=UAL In the plan aircraft.txt the title must follow the number. Then check the airline code. You can get aircraft.txt from decompiling the United WoA traffic file using AIFP. Then look in the aircraft.cfg for the model. It is not necessary to run RC to check this. The parking code check is just to check for your convenience for your airport afd type file assignments verification.
April 5, 201313 yr Author None of the aircraft.cfg files were changed. All AI aircraft folders were just copied and pasted into the respective P3D simobjects/aircraft folder. The flight plan files were converted to FSX format using AIFP, so maybe something changed there. I'll take a look tonight. Thanks, Ronzie. April 6, 201313 yr Commercial Member send me a log, instructions pinned at the top of the forum. also look at the quick start guide at www.jdtllc.com/v4/rcv43.pdf there is a specific setting in fsuipc that tells fsuipc how to format the airline name. that has to be set correctly, so that rc can recognize the aircraft name jd JD Read my blog
April 6, 201313 yr By the way, I was noticing that the airlines RC does not recognize start being quite a lot. In those cases the controller calls them with the initial letter, followed by the flight number. No way to add more airlines to RC4? James Goggi
April 6, 201313 yr Author JD, I'll double check that guide and send you a log if problem isn't fixed. Jgoggi, please start a new thread with your issue, as our problems are different. It's best to keep the forum more organized, so that those who have the same issue as you can better search for their answer. Also, your question will most likely get answered in a more timely fashion. Only if .wav files exist for the names can data and script files be edited to announce new airlines. It is in a section of the manual and can be quite difficult. RC uses real voice phrase recording techniques and assembles when running the phrases it requires.
