Leg 12 YMML-NZAA

Melbourne to Auckland. Morning departure from Melbourne with good tailwinds en-route. Raining and windy on arrival in Auckland. Now setup for the longest leg of the RTW. Auckland will be the jump-off point for Hawaii.

Yes Orbx NZNI (New Zealand North Island).  I am an Orbx convert.  As long as I can afford too I will grab every region they produce.

Me, too.  I'm already plotting my next machine so I can run at higher autogen densities.

Leg 13 NZAA-PHNL

Auckland to Honolulu. Departed Auckland at twilight for a night flight across the south pacific to Hawaii. For this longest leg in the RTW I took full fuel and medium passenger/freight load. It was headwinds most of the way and at my top of descent point I had a 500 mile reserve. I ended up with 8% fuel remaining as I stopped at the gate. One more leg to go!

Leg 14 PHNL-PANC

Honolulu to Anchorage. Final Leg of this round the world journey. Evening departure from Hawaii and then a night flight north to Alaska and a dawn arrival. The entire journey was completed on the original engines (122 hours) and were in fair condition on landing in Anchorage.

Awesome idea. I may try this with the B17 or DC6. Good way to work in all your add on scenery and being productive doing it. Cpt. Out.

Best Regards,

Quality flight Jeff, Well done. Now to do it in a microlight

Now to do it in a microlight

You haven't heard?

MM proposed this on SOH...

As much as I like the default AirCreation Trike... I am thinking I may go with Ant's Ausflight Drifter.

Btw Jeff... cool stuff... thanks for the journal.

Well done, Jeff!  I've always wanted to try this with nothing but vintage Navy birds.  I just can't seem to carve out enough time to keep up the momentum.  Great inspiration, sir!

Jeff,

Flying Magazine posted this on Facebook today. A period shot, 1951 Idlewild airport a 1949 Clipper named "Morning Star" , retired in 1960.
