April 12, 201313 yr PSolk. I have 2 saitek throrttle quadrants pluged into my MB, WIFI mouse and Keyboared, USB headset and a Logitect Joystick, I've never experienced this ever on any pc before. I have unplugged all my devices and just left tthe yoke in the MB. But it did not help at all. Ok, let's start from the beginning as I know there has been a lot of troubleshooting to date and sometimes it is easier to just reset... How many ports total do you have on your motherboard? USB 1.0 2.0 or 3.0? Front and rear? (want to see if there are possibly multiple controllers) Have you tried the yoke in all of them, predominantly the ones you normally use for your keyboard/mouse as we already know those ports are good? When it goes to sleep or is lost what restores it? Plugging and unplugging or reboot? Is it only if it sits idle or even if you are using it constantly? I know these are a lot of questions but I too suspect it lies somewhere in the power setting of the saitek yoke and something in the OS is putting it to sleep. Hence it working in Windows 7. (you did say that right?) Thanks Johann! Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
April 12, 201313 yr Author It is confusing Johann. In a later post you said you had 2 throttle quadrants plugged into your motherboard. But the quadrant that ships with the yoke has a round plug that can only be plugged into the yoke. Is your setup different? I also have two quadrants but one is plugged into the yoke via a round plug. The other plugs into one of the usb ports on the yoke. I suggest you try the yoke and one throttle quadrant. See if that works for longer than 13 minutes. My PC runs XP 32-bit so I'm sure that providing the yoke is recognised there isn't a problem. Everything points to power being switched off to the port after 13 minutes. Ray. I have 2 throttles using USB connection which i bought separate, and the 3rd one is the one which came with the yoke. but it stops responmding to my inputs when the yoke stops. Yesterday I checked if my joystick will also stop responding if it was pluged it into the usb ports of the yoke. And the joystick responded to all my inputs when the yoke stopped responding.
April 12, 201313 yr Johann, Do you have a PS/2 mouse/keyboard you can use for a bit? If not we can do it anyway but easier with PS/2. I want to delete all your USB settings from device manager, reboot and let Windows rebuild/reinstall the USB profiles. Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
April 12, 201313 yr Author PSOLKWhat do you mean by PS/2?And can you please explain to me how I delete all my usb setting and reboot?thank youJohann
April 12, 201313 yr Moderator Johann, I'm not ignoring you but I think it best if you do what Paul is asking and see if that solves things. PS/2 is the port used for a plug-in mouse and keyboard. You can delete all your usb settings in Device Manager by choosing view by connection and clicking the + sign against each usb item, highlighting each entry and hitting delete. April 12, 201313 yr can you take a screen shot of your USB devices expanded under device manager. Most likely Intel is a controller and the answer is yes but prefer to see things for my own eyes if possible. You are welcome Johann Just so you know, in my experience I have seen this quite a few times and it has come down to: USB power settings in OS USB power settings in BIOS Deleting USB entries and rebooting Deleting Saitek drivers Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

April 13, 201313 yr Make sure your yoke is plugged in when you do this as well... Then right click on it and delete it then reboot. Let's try that before deleting the controllers. The OS will find them on next reboot anyway but let's try this step by step Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
