April 12, 201313 yr Moderator You need to buy a powered usb hub and your problem will go away no way around it this is what you need to do. You never hook up a yoke to a hub not a good idea. Richard, You really do need to make your mind up. Giving conflicting advice is not helpful. Ray (Cheshire, England). April 12, 201313 yr Ray, Not sure if this is perhaps a grammar perception taking place or not. For example, for me a USB powered hub is something completely different from a powered USB hub. I would refer to a USB powered hub as a hub that connects to the computer via a USB cable and draws its power from that connection. i.e. it is powered only by the USB connection. On the other hand to me a powered USB hub is one that utilizes its own separate power supply. -FP Frank Patton Corsair 5000D Airflow Case; MSI B650 Tomahawk MOB; Ryzen 7 7800 X3D CPU; ASUS RTX 4080 Super; NZXT 360mm liquid cooler; Corsair Vengeance 64GB DDR5 4800 MHz RAM; RMX850X Gold PSU;; ASUS VG289 4K 27" Display; Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo, Crosswind 3's w/dampener. April 12, 201313 yr Moderator FP, It's very confusing if there are two such perceptions. I don't understand why a usb-powered hub would help Johann since no additional power is being supplied by the port it's plugged into. Surely its only use is to feed additional USB devices if the PC is short of ports. The alternative is what I use - a separately powered USB hub that feeds my GoFlight modules and also links my Saitek yoke and extra quadrant to the PC. In over 4 years I've never experienced any problems with this arrangement. Richard really does need to qualify his statement. Ray (Cheshire, England). April 12, 201313 yr Nothing confusing its real simple yoke goes to motherboard usb then all other devices can go into the powered hub of that yoke - the main thing is a yoke plug should go into the MB Rich Sennett
April 12, 201313 yr Moderator Nothing confusing its real simple yoke goes to motherboard usb then all other devices can go into the powered hub of that yoke - the main thing is a yoke plug should go into the MB Then where does a separate powered usb hub come into the equation? And if it's not a good idea to plug the saitek into a independently powered usb hub please explain why. Johann said he has several usb devices but doesn't mention where he's plugging those into. I think he needs to qualify exactly what equipment he has and what he's plugging those into. Ray (Cheshire, England). April 12, 201313 yr Ray, I upgraded my system power supply to 750 watts as well, at the time I upgraded to a more powerful video card. Not sure if you read deep enough in my post to note that I had added the Saitek external power supply to the yoke and when I attempted to use it that way the power to the Multipanel actually dropped. i.e. the Multipanel display dimmed significantly, and went dark with the first operation of any button or knob. Difficult to tell if that issue is with the power supply, with the yoke, or even perhaps with the Multipanel. Its most likely an issue with only one of the three. I really doubt it is a Multipanel issue since it works fine when connected direct to the CPU. I have since communicated here via PM with another user who also uses the Saitek power supply with his yoke and has a much more successful result. We verified that the labels on our power supply match. So yesterday when digging around for my warranty coverage I came up with a customer service phone number for Madcatz/Saitek and called. Got much better service than I got last year online. Still had my ticket number from email. They are sending me out another power supply to try. If that does not work we will work to isolate which of the other two is the issue. April 12, 201313 yr "Then where does a separate powered usb hub come into the equation? " This is only if you ran out of usb ports and need more ports you buy another powered usb port which is what I had to do as I have other devices that need to be hooked up for instance I also have a Vrinsight boeing mcp II panel among other things that's it pretty simple stuff here. He doesn't appear to have the Multipanel so all the yoke requires is enough power for the LCD display and axis movements. He also mentioned some flights were perfectly okay. Maybe he plugged the yoke into a different port. Until he comes back with more info it's difficult to help. Ray (Cheshire, England). April 12, 201313 yr Moderator Johann, it does sound as though it's faulty but if that is the case why did some flights work okay? Have you tried plugging the yoke into different usb ports? Perhaps you have one faulty one. Make sure it's correctly identified in Control Panel / Game Controllers. Ray (Cheshire, England). I actualy realy do not understand what the problem with this. I tried all my usb ports. Yesterday it worked, then I restarted my pc just to double check if it works correctly, I left the yoke usb in the same usb port. but after 13 min it just stopped, and pc did not responded to any of my comands at all. Yet it said Saitek yoke work's correctly. Im very very confused. Also I thought both my PC was 64 bit. But when I check the pc where it does not want to work on actualy a 32 Bit. Do you think it can be a problem on the yoke that my pc can not read it it?
April 12, 201313 yr Nothing confusing its real simple yoke goes to motherboard usb then all other devices can go into the powered hub of that yoke - the main thing is a yoke plug should go into the MB Why? I have had my yoke plugged into a USB hub that is self powered and plugged into the wall for as long as I have used a yoke. Please justify. As for this nomenclature it is simple: USB Port: Motherboard USB Hub: Non-Powered only plugs into MB Powered USB Hub: plugs into wall and MB Even I am getting confused trying to keep up with what is being said here... The very first thing Richard said was you need to buy a POWERED USB HUB. Now he is saying you always plug your yoke into the MB and all other devices go to the powered hub of the yoke? So why do you need a powered USB hub at all? Two completely conflicting pieces of information, I am with Ray here... Johann, it is clearly seeing the yoke, it is losing it for some reason. Do you have a USB Mouse/Keyboard? Do those keep working? Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

I have 2 saitek throrttle quadrants pluged into my MB, WIFI mouse and Keyboared, USB headset and a Logitect Joystick, I've never experienced this ever on any pc before. I have unplugged all my devices and just left tthe yoke in the MB. But it did not help at all.

But the quadrant that ships with the yoke has a round plug that can only be plugged into the yoke. Is your setup different? I also have two quadrants but one is plugged into the yoke via a round plug. The other plugs into one of the usb ports on the yoke. I suggest you try the yoke and one throttle quadrant. See if that works for longer than 13 minutes. My PC runs XP 32-bit so I'm sure that providing the yoke is recognised there isn't a problem. Everything points to power being switched off to the port after 13 minutes. Ray (Cheshire, England).
