What's your favorite flight?

Featured Replies

Mine is a short hop from KSNA (John Wayne) up to KSBA (Santa Barbara) via one of the ZLA TEC routes in the J41 or Turbine Duke.  Coming in over the water on the VOR to Runway 25, turning short final over the houses.  (Scenery I use is Megascenery X SoCal, Cities X Los Angeles, UTX).

Spill your guts.  What's your route, airplane and scenery?

I don't really have a favorite flight, but there are a few airports I really like flying into.

I love flights that end in Geneva (LSGG, addon by FSDT, surrounding scenery Flylogic Switzerland Pro X), especially when approaching RWY 23 in the evening, so you can watch an awesome sunset over Lake Geneva.

Then there's PAWG Wrangell to PASI Sitka in some small props like the Carenado Caravan, the scenery (Tongass Fjords) is just stunning.

The only flight I do regularly is LOWW(by FlyTampa) to LOWI(Aerosoft) in the AXE, and hopefully soon in the Dash 8. Using real weather on that one can be quite challening.

Similar to Florian, I love FlyTampa LOWW and FSDT LSGG. EDDM–LOWW, EGKK–LSGG, and LSZH–LSGG are lovely short flights. These are usually PMDG B747 flights, but I often just fly circuits at these airports using the RealAir Lancair Legacy.

In the sim it's EIDW Dublin International Airport -> EGAA Belfast International/EGAC Belfast City -> EINN Shannon Airport -> EICK Cork Airport -> EIDW Dublin International.

Nice and quick and you can get  a few sectors in.

Real life: EIDW Dublin -> LFMN Nice Cote de Azur -> EIDW Dublin.

Nice sector length and an amazing approach into NCE.

Not the most scenic flight in FSX world but I do enjoy EIDW (Dublin) to EGBB (Birmingham)

Short hop takes on average 1hr. Lets you do a full workload without the long cruise which I don't really have time for these days.

Sometimes I like to fly a small prop from my local airfield EITM to EIDW before switching to either the NGX or Airbus extended for the longer flight.

Here is a flight I'm doing right now with Air Hauler:

KGNG direct to KHLN at 12,800 ft over the Idaho/Montana mountains with Twin Otter. Beautiful flight just clearing the tops by a few hundred feet.
