April 13, 201313 yr If I get this message come up any more, I think I'm gonna scream - "This graphics card does not meet the minimum requirements for Shader Support. This product requires a geForce3/Radeon8500 class or better graphics card". So in a nutshell, long story into short version. Old pc, Acer Inspire, approx 1.6GHz processor, 4 GB RAM, ATI Raden HD 5450 1Gb Graphics Card. FSX with SP1 performs adequately well on low spec settings and never crashes. Decided to get PMDG NGX 737. Needed SP2 which I downloaded from Microsoft and everything worked fine......for about 30 mins then froze and wouldn't run any further. I kinda knew this would be the case, but wanted to justify updating my system to the missus!!! So with upgrades, new PC (home built) specs are as follows: Intel ® Core i3 - 3220 CPU @ 3.3GHz 8GB DDR3 RAM (3.47 GB useable - only running 32 bit presently. 64 bit upgrade on its way) ATI Radeon HD 5450 1GB Graphics Card (supports upto Shader 11.0) So now FSX will not load at all based on the stupid message I get mentioned above. If I uninstall FSX then reinstall with just SP1, it works. Load PMDG files with SP2 and it won't. Crazy thing is I know my Graphics Card is compatible I've checked out the specs and had it fully functional on the old system. So is this a DirectX problem? Version 9 came with original game. SP2 requires DirectX 10 again which my graphics card will handle. I know overall Windows 7 64 bit will help but even on a clean install will it solve this issue???? I'm beginning to have my doubts. Any help anyone can give will be gratefully received. Many thanks Mike Fairbrass
April 13, 201313 yr Hi Mike, I had this problem a couple of weeks ago. Not sure if this is the case with you but my problem was installing air display for my ipad and android tablet as an extra screen. It would seem trying to install new graphics drivers whilst any third addon for screen extensions to a tablet severly affect fsx giving this message. So, if you have done so uninstall third party addons for any screen extensions to either a tablet or anyother device and try again.

If this dont work then thats me and my idea's gone.

Good luck mate.

Sent from my GT-N8010 using Tapatalk HD Gary Blake.
April 13, 201313 yr This is probably no help but I recently got this error also. The problem for some reason was adobe photoshop running in the background. My only suggestion is to check for background applications that may be using graphic resources . Finally, your tip worked. I did have Air Display installed, so removed and I can now get into the program.........However, it's now thrown up another problem. For some unknown reason it is not letting me register my valid licence for the NGX 737. Do you know if this is a problem with the FLEXnet Licensing Service? I've called up msconfig and found the file, but it says that the status is "STOPPED" where other services state "RUNNING". I've tried disabling all services, then enabling them again but it still says "STOPPED". So, i've included the messages that I get up when I get to this stage and there's also a separate window showing the msconfig services at the top. Once again, if you or anyone else can shed some light on this, I would be very grateful. Cannot believe the lengths I have to go to to play one game, aggggh Mike Fairbrass
April 14, 201313 yr Im glad your up and running again, although not quite, as for the NGX licence problem I have no idea. Good luck pal. Gary Blake.
April 14, 201313 yr MIke, check your Services to see if you have FNPLicensingServ.exe. If you don't then you have a licensing issue that you may have to take up with PMDG by submitting a Support Ticket. Rick Almeida

I've called up msconfig and found the file, but it says that the status is "STOPPED" where other services state "RUNNING". Make sure that the "Startup Type" of the FLEXnet Licensing Service is set to "Manual" and not to "Disabled", and then reboot your system for good measure. The service should then be started on demand (and stopped again afterwards) automatically whenever you load the NGX.

The FLEXnet Licensing Service only shows under the "SERVICES" tab of msconfig. It doesn't appear under the "STARTUP" tab. I've searched my C:/ drive and have found the " FNPLicensingServ.exe" file as a separate entity. Can it be added to the STARTUP tab? if so, how do I do that then??? Mike Fairbrass
April 14, 201313 yr Hi, don't want to appear ignorant, but how do I set this to manual? Open your Windows Start Menu, enter "services" into the Start Menu search box, after which "Services" will appear under "Programs". Click on that. Scroll down the list of services until you come upon the FLEXnet Licensing Service. Double click that. Click the drop-down list next to "Startup type" and select "Manual". Click OK. Clear as mud?

April 14, 201313 yr I think PMDG are currently moving there activation servers this weekend, due to problems they were having. It's on a thread here somewhere. Might not be a problem on your end. April 16, 201313 yr Author just switch graphic cards, I had the same problem and did that, it worked fine. Graphics Card problem sorted now without a further purchase thankfully! At least I'm back in. Now just gotta sort the license issue out with the online registration servers. Just waiting on a reply to the ticket I raised Sunday afternoon
