April 25, 201313 yr Maybe one for the MCE devs here. Norton has just decided to delete my MCE .exe as it thinks its detected a threat going by the name of 'suspicious.cloud.7.EP' Any ideas why this has happened? I've had MCE since middle of last year and updated when latest version came out. No probs before and i'm sure there is no real threat here, just Norton being over protective again? Thanks for any info on this : ) Kind Regards Simon.

May 4, 201313 yr Hmmm it is quite possible. I have not used Norton for many years due to similar issues. Can you reinstall and mark the file as safe? Will Reynolds Flight Sim Addict

I usually only look at the first page of the MCE subforum. It's definitely a false positive. If it's not Norton, it could be AVG, Avira, Avast... In the past we had AVG flag mce.exe very often. In fact, we would compile the same code 10 times, and funnily enough the exe would only get flagged 2 or 3 times. The key thing is our executables (*.exe) and dlls are digitally signed as coming from FS++. I can understand your concerns when you open an exe that says "unknow publisher", but it's not the case here. Gerald R https://www.multicrewxp.com
May 4, 201313 yr If it were me I'd ditch Norton and install Microsoft Security Essentials. It's free and I've never had an issue with it. Gregg Seipp "A good landing is when you can walk away from the airplane. A great landing is when you can reuse it." i9 64GB RAM, GTX-5090
May 4, 201313 yr I agree with Greg. You should only ever have one AV on your PC. Security Essentials is popular with flightsimmers. Very light on resources. I thought it would be a false positive but best to run it by yourselves just in case. Thanks everyone else for the replies : ) (Too many pinned threads on this forum. People miss messages from others once they slip onto page two. It only takes four topics and then they go. Any chance of a spring clean? Right time if your in the northern hemisphere ; ) Kind Regards Simon.
