April 29, 201313 yr Author While I am putting in my order for changes I completely forgot... The "Dreaded Halo" I call it MUST go away COMPLETELY as well! What is it there for anyways... it is mucking up our scenery. :t0103: whomever that that this was a good idea was seriously fooling themselves and didn't take two more seconds to think about how that was going to effect play. I was thinking Luis... with that gray background it would be hard to tell(?) however, is there a way to make the cross hairs "clear" looking... much like an icicle in the winter time? (I know you would have a hard time with that description b/c u r in da tropical weather...lol) Would that look better than a ghosted white color? P.S. ... Please do not forget the white & "X"; too.
April 29, 201313 yr Hi FolksLuis -FWICS - Having revisited the filethe crosshairs displayed in-game comprise of 2 elements -- Shape 12 - Semi-transparent grey- Shape 13 - Opaque whiteShape 12 is only a shadowmask, and by itself, I think would be indiscernible.i.e.it's only a grey outline of the crosshairs location.EDIT -Definitely lose the halo. Also scale crosshairs to 40% of current size.If we find someone with the appropriate toolset & skills -then I think the first priority should be fixing the Chat Windowwhich post service-packwhen using the mousesteals focus from the entire viewportand doesn't recentre the mouse-cursor on closing.HTHATBPaul ODG Preview

May 8, 201313 yr So what's the latest? Time to buy a joystick. You really are missing out by sticking with a mouse!
May 8, 201313 yr Author Time to buy a joystick. You really are missing out by sticking with a mouse! Well… now that Double J has called me out …lol…I hope that you guys will not hate me… however…this happened AFTER I started this post… But still… the contention I will always have is what I have reported at the beginning of this post and am still excited for a solution. Because when you go to “Auto Pilot” there is that annoying White Cross Hairs with the “X”, and the Dreaded Halo still anyway. I do have some VERY cool news to report. Just about 2 1/2 weeks ago... you would not believe what I picked up at the Thrift Store... a JOYSTICK! Yayyyy for me! And I wasn't expecting to find something like that....at all. I just was poking around as usual. Guess how much it cost me? $5.25 including tax. $$$ CHA CHINNNNNNG! $$$ It is a Logitech J-ZA10 WingMan Extreme 3D Digital PC Joystick. (2003 model) see the pic of it on c|net: http://reviews.cnet.com/game-accessories/logitech-wingman-extreme-digital/4505-10110_7-1447657.html After I did some research on it (because I knew I could find something from Logitech) I thought that I needed the CD that came with it in order for it to work. However, as szmart az I am, I called Logitech to find out if it is compatible with my system. At first... she said no. I was crushed. I wanted it to work SOOOO BAAAD! But like me, I pushed the issue and said, "Well if it works on prior systems... I have downloaded older games before and they work on newer OS systems. She "consulted her manager"/put me on hold... then she said, try plugging it in. I did. It WORKED. The software was included in the joystick... who woulda thunk it?...lol) Then she asked me what I was using it for. I almost laughed at her because I said to myself, "Why... don't you know what Microsoft Flight is????"...(laughing)... noooo I didn't say that. But told her it was for MS Flight. Then I wanted to see if it was going to work in the game. I loaded up Flight and waaaala! It worked...I wuz flyyyyin! AND the game recognized the type of joystick I had! Iz that cool or what? I can see why the previous person may have unloaded it.. it is not "perfect" on the calibration (i.e. the slider for the throttle doesn't go all the way to 100% without coaxing it a little...lol But it's ALLLLLLLLLL MINE! I gots the deal of the YEAR! I will tell you something though... after flying with a mouse for most of my career in Flight... (Totaling 326 hours, 40 minutes and 47 seconds of flight time. How does that equate? :p0503: Two times around planet Earth. :p0503: I have a little more time to kill than the average person...lol) flyin' with the joystick is QUITE SQUIRRELY. (Squirrel!...lol) But I am definitely doin' the Snoopy Dance! :yahoo: But hey…let’s get this issue fixed still. I am excited for the solution. Because I will piggyback on DoubleJ’s comment. “You are missing out on so much” Re: having that pesky thing in your view-finder….lol -fryer
May 8, 201313 yr You might do a search for the older software to calibrate the joystick OR... a lot of times you can do this within Windows itself. Not knowing if the joystick still has all of it range in the axis or not, using Windows to test it out and adjust settings might make it less of an adventure.
May 8, 201313 yr Author You might do a search for the older software to calibrate the joystick OR... a lot of times you can do this within Windows itself. Not knowing if the joystick still has all of it range in the axis or not, using Windows to test it out and adjust settings might make it less of an adventure. The woman I spoke to at Logitech taught me how to go to USB Controllers within the Start Menu. I was able to calibrate it (ummmm for the most part I think) Question... if the downloadable software is only for Windows Vista Windows 2000 or Windows XP which of those would be closest to Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit? Or would it be compatible at all? Update: Used the Vista 64bit download...it works Now back on topic
