Carenado Releases King Air C90 for FS9

Recommended Posts

Here is my evening jaunt with light effects for nosewheel landing/taxi and wing landing light effects....and of course a little gauge to switch the landing/taxi lights on the nosewheel off with gear retraction The nosegear retraction speed was way too slow btw so here is another update.

Ed the formatting of this last update seems to be screwed up.  For ease of copy/paste can you re-upload it.  I've noticed a few times things don't take right in these forums or the Smiley's option is greyed out where you can't use them (another example).  I've had to re-post a few times for various reasons because of these issues.

This chap has done a good job with the lights: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/407767-c90b-king-air-hd-series-fs2004/

Awesome work Ed, thanks for the tip on another mod for the lights.

Quite the panel man, wait 'til I point Carenado here.

a little gauge to switch the landing/taxi lights on the nosewheel off
Could've sworn mine switches off when it goes up?

Could've sworn mine switches off when it goes up?

I have add light effects to mine, they do not move with the nosewheel and need to be switched off the second it retracts.

My only beef now with this model is the elevator movement is so small. It would appear standard procedure for taxi is to push the yoke forward (opposite of my PA-28). Even with the yoke fully forward the elevator hardly moves....I would like to see it travel twice as far as it does now. (exterior view)

The other thing is ....how to fly it?...I find a 747-200 far easier than this turboprop biznizz.

You guys certainly aren't helping.  I am in the market for a twin turboprop....but now can't decide: Aeroworx or Carenado.  :P

Anyone have both, opinions?

I do not own the Carenado, but my guess is that the Carenado looks way prettier, and is probably a pretty nice bird overall, but the Aeroworx is a bit more "complex" and "accurate", systems//FDE wise.

BTW, anyone who owns both (I'm sure you're numerous) feel free to correct me.

fully Reality-XP spec'd
Mmm us back-seater flyers hardly notice the difference ...

can't decide: Aeroworx or Carenado.
As mentioned at the top of this thread, Carenado provides instant gratification, and is great to jump into and have a fly. This is why Ed has trouble with it, in his normal mount he spends 45 minutes on pre-flight and waiting for his custom gyro to stabilise!

I *never* take a "casual" flight in the Aeroworx model, it is a serious piece of kit in every respect.

I own both but am not an expert on both....my kind of turboprop is a Fokker F-27-200 or Antonov An-12.

Metal Mike has got it spot on. I think the Aeroworx is a bit like the LevelD 767 ....excellent sim but showing her age.

I just jumped into the Aeroworx to remind myself what she was like. As soon as I jumped in the left seat I could feel the love and effort that went into this package......fired her up and her for a spin. I loved the way she just gently took off.

The Carenado on the other hand is very pretty and could be so so brilliant but you know it is just another aircraft in their fantastic range. At the moment I struggle to get her off the ground and when I do she shoots up...but it is early days yet. If I had to choose right now I would go for the beautiful Carenado and try and fix what needs to be fixed (done quite a lot of that already).

Soundset wise I have been using the Aeroworks with the Carenado but wondering about the Turbine Sound studios sound set .....anyone have any experience with it?

Hopefully I will stay with her long enough to make a video .....I have an An-12 calling me. :Nerd:

Hi guys. I tried a short flight EGGW/EGNM crz @ FL145

I used Kurt "Yoda" Kalbfleisch's flight tutorial.

The Torque gauge did not behave as expected. I wounder if the code is flawed in FS9 like the EPR code?
