May 27, 201313 yr FDE and engine manegment make the difference for me. I think Carenado get a bit lazy at times with that. This is pretty much why I've avoided getting Carenado products for a while. I like the ones I have for FSX, but I don't think the FS9 stuff gets the Bernt Stolle treatment.
May 27, 201313 yr just loaded up the default flight to check to see if the trim there is in fact set neutral. I dunno if it's just me, but my copy of the default flight (default Cessna 172 at KSEA) has the trim set by default to +5.9*... either my flight is corrupted somehow or the trim wheel in the C90 wasn't messed up, since the default flight you claim to start from isn't in fact set to neutral... So, more clarification on this, please. I'm a little confused at this point!

Ok using the code (A:Elevator trim Position, degrees) you can see that my default cold and dark C172 loads up with the code readout at 0.0 degrees.......in the panel it looks like it is trimmed down. To trim the C172 for takeoff you will need to trim it back (up), what you see in the sim as set for t/o reads out as 4.6 degrees up in the code. When WingZ is talking about about neutral trim for the King Air C90 he means he does not have to touch it....he feels it is already trimmed for takeoff when loading the aircraft. ie code readout 0.0 Now if that is the case the trim wheel in the VC is completely wrong....that is it looks like it is trimmed down beyond belief! All that needed to be done was to edit the texture so it reads as trimmed for takeoff when the code reads 0.0. Now it is a bit more complicated than that because every aircraft in your sim will take off with a different trim setting in the code readout but obviously will look trimmed for t/o (or should) in the sim. What I do when making my panels is simply by practising a lot of takeoffs in the sim using different settings until I find the sweet spot and then put the texture (readout in sim) in the correct position (what I did with the C90) I hope that makes things a little clearer. I mostly like the way this C90 flies in FS9....my only beef is the takeoff (which I will fix) The best way to describe it is there is no gentle rotate at the moment IMHO....that is you pull the stick back ...nothing happens and then she jumps into the air. May 27, 201313 yr Got this for FSX and really like it. I've been thinking of picking it up for FS9 to support development of the sim. Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 2 Ark -------------------------- I9 9900K @ 5ghz / 32GB G.Skill (Samsung B) / Aorus Master Mobo / EVGA GTX 2080Ti FTW 3

Well, see, that's just it. The plane in that flight is hardly neutral. With it trimmed up that high, it climbs like a bat out of hell and most definitely is NOT good for hands-free-flying! I have to trim it back MUCH closer to 0 for it to be pleasant to fly. Depending on how much the trim wheel has to be rotated per degree of trim, loading a flight with 5.9 degrees trim (as seems to happen with my copy of the default flight) might end up with a trim wheel rotated all the way around! Perhaps indeed the confusion is about the "default flight," instead. My default flight is with the Eaglesoft Twin Comanche, cold and dark and zeroed. Loading the standard default flight results in the odd behavior - and trim wheels that appear rotated when they really oughtn't be. In case I'm still not making sense, I might add that this post - and my previous post were posted with a total lack of sleep, so mental function might not be up to standard levels...

It would appear to me that you have saved a def flight with the trim set at +5.9 degrees. I would suggest saving a default flight with the trim at 0 degrees. My FS Videos

I'm speaking of the standard default flight - the one that came with the sim, fresh off the CD... not one I've saved. That may be the source of my rather embarrassing confusion.

Hmmm ok. Well I have a default C172 cold and dark saved as my def flight as I am sure most FS users have....as it is best to start with this aircraft before loading any complex aircraft. I am/would be surprised that the def elevator trim setting is not zero. My FS Videos
May 27, 201313 yr I will be making a return flight video LBA/LTN to show my FDE edit for takeoff. Plus edited PFD/ND...the gauges now have delays (pointers turn smoothly to position ..not snap). Course pointer in the ND now is white when in GPS mode and green when not...in GPS mode the the pointer automatically moves to the new waypoint course....Font size corrected...Rad alt fixed..invisible click spots on PFD and ND (to change course and heading plus popups) etc etc.. The obligatory footwell shot....... you know there was a chap at my airfield found trapped in the footwell of his PA-28.....everyone's reaction was...... obviously too much FSX! My FS Videos

May 29, 201313 yr Author There's a problem with the forum software - if you edit a quote it rolls up your text into it, plus other interesting shenanigans. At one point the "Click to return to top of this AVSIM page" banner below, left a dirty strip as I scrolled down...
