October 14, 200421 yr Interesting one: Captain Sim's 707. Although it's a bit buggy when it comes to systems (to be fixed soon), it's a pleasure to land w/o AP. Tune in the ILS just for reference, but land by hand! John Travolta has a 707, so why shouldn't you?Have fun!Eagle

October 15, 200421 yr >Easiest AND most realistic?>Yes why not? I have heard that it's easier to handfly in real world than in FS. Totally UN-REALISTIC though>(Don't fall asleep flying it!)>I had in mind realistic settings in FS and handflying i.e. no autopilot. Also I think that the real Cessna 172 is easy to handfly but shouldn't we say Flight 1 Cessna 172 instead of the default.

October 15, 200421 yr Author Certainly is easier to hand-fly a real aeroplane - thats why I love a bit of FS9 flying AND the real thing lol (FS9 helps with my hand/eye coordinationn and remains an excellent training aid for the basics of Instrument flight and navigation). The DeHavilland Chipmunk can be found in the AVSIM library search for "Rick Piper" and "Chipmunk". I don't think you will disappointed - its a fantastic FS freeware addon.I had my first real aviation experience in the "Chippie" with the UK Air Training Corp. Lovely little aircraft - aerobatic too:)SF-260 is easy to fly in FS and real-life as long as you fly it accurately and "to the numbers". Treat it bad and you can expect to be bitten ;)AdamAdam Moorewww.hhuk.netJAR PPL/IMC (A)Win XP Pro - Dell Dimension 4500P4 2.54 GHz - 1GB RAMHiTech Radeon 128MB 9800Pro IceQ19" CRT 1600x1200 @ 100hzAudiophile 24/96FS2004 + UK2000 1/2/3/4/5/6/EGLL PROUK VFR Photographic Scenery 1/2/3/4UK VFR Terrain MeshUltimate VFR : RealAir SF-260Ultimate IFR : PMDG 737Ultimate FUN : RealAir Scout
October 15, 200421 yr >The T37 (Tweety) found at www.t37sim.com pricey but worth it,>best flight dynamics and best gauge movement I've found yet.>Can a jet really be more easy to handfly than for example a Cessna 172? Otherwise this T37 really looks interesting.
October 15, 200421 yr Jets are often easy to fly because you don't have any prop effects, plus you usually have all the power you need. Speeds are a bit higher, but the Tweet needs only 70-80 knots on landing. Only problem i found is slowing down on approach plus the engines have considerable spool up time.-
October 15, 200421 yr I find the PMDG Beech 1900 to be my smoothest flyer. And add my vote to Rick Piper's Chipmunk. It's sheer joy to fly it.
October 15, 200421 yr Author May I also suggest another Rick Piper creation?DeHavilland Jet Provost - early UK RAF jet trainer.Super looking and flying and the engine takes foreeeeeeeever to spool up!Adam
October 15, 200421 yr jfri,The following airplanes are a good combination of realistic flight and easy handling:1. Bill Lyons' Piper Apache2. Dreamfleet's Piper Archer3. Carenado's T-34(Of these three, Dreamfleet's Archer has by far the best "How do I fly this?" documentation.)For absolute best flight dynamics and a whole lot of fun, I'd recommend:4. MAAM's B-255. MAAM's R4D6. RealAir's Decathlon7. Project Sierra Hotel's T-37 (like Zane said)Ken
October 15, 200421 yr Well, after flying the 777 sim in Denver, have to say that PMDG's 737 planes feel the best to me. The level D sim was much easier to hand fly than the computer - the inertia and mass of the plane is modeled extremely well in the full motion simulator. PMDG' seems to have captured that best of all for me, and I have PIC767, Capt Sim 727 and the IK DC9s.
