Silencing AP Disengage

Featured Replies

Folks,

Is there any way i can silence the Autopilot Disengage WITHOUT HAVING TO PRESS THAT FLSAHING RED A/P BUTTON?

I don't mind pressing that, but its a bit annoying having to quickly pan down click it, and quickly pan back up on Final approach ^_^

Of coursem RW operations i guess the NFP disengages and silences? We/I don't have that luxery though, so, you know, what can i do eh?

 Thanks for Any Feedback

If you have assigned any specific keyboard key for auto pilot disengage button, then you should press it twice,

Once to disengage the Ap and second time to silence the alert

For completeness' sake: the same applies to disconnecting the autothrottle.

Click-click, click-click.

Assign a key command to AP Disconnect in the FMC menus.  I use CTRL+SHIFT+1.

Press once to disconnect, and press a second time to tell the automation you did it intentionally (which shuts it up).  Assigning this key command and using it is similar to using the AP DISC button on the yoke, so it's not too unrealistic.

Also keep in mind it will sound three times no matter how many times you press the button. That's just the way Boeing made it.
