May 26, 201313 yr I've told my team to drop XP support after the 737 and the Bell 407. Yep, I can clearly read that handwriting on the wall. My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.

May 27, 201313 yr While I stuck with XP, I just didn't buy anything new, without ample evidence it would run well. It's a good self-discipline, helps you remember to really use and enjoy what you already have, instead of superficially chasing after the latest/greatest Thing. Now that I'm on Win 8 and a new machine (as my old one literally dried up and died... I still have the dusty bits), it is all the more difficult to engage in such self-discipline. Oh well!
