Has anyone tried Upgraded airport textures???

Featured Replies

One word, "Airport Environment Upgrade MX"...Has anyone tried this out??? http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/95096.jpgAll KMSP needs here is the FSE jetways and a couple of vehicles thrown in here and there. At least this could hold one over until Simflyer's releases their professional version...I always thought the default buildings were a little bland...

I thought I had, but I note now that I haven't updated Chris' stuff since v6.0... :)I'm d/l'ing now and will install immediately! V6.0 was a HUGE improvement over the default, so I fully expect the MX version to take it to a whole new level... :)

I would think it's IFDG's. I just copied the pic from the screenshot forum to show people these awesome alternative textures for terminals...

according to what I have seen in the Library, Version 6.0 is the latest and was released nearly 6 months after AEU MX edition.Am I missing something?I have V 6.0 and it is amazing.

yeah, I thought version 6.0 is the latest one?? The MX is a very old file...whihc one is actually the newer one then?

These textures are really nice, they do have one problem though, they are pretty large unless you find the reduced size version. As the airport buildings come into view at a few miles, they will cause a stutter or two. I highly suggest finding the resized versions as this helps out a lot. Be careful using the whole thing as even the runway textures are pretty large also. Where I find these really help is the default terminals and airport buildings so I just use those. The default textures are silly.Hornit

where are the resized ones?? I agree they are quite large and would like to get smaller texture sizes

I tried all available versions of Chris' airport package.I don't like his runway lights but I liked everything else. But ultimately I uninstalled it since it causes too much stutter when textures are being loaded. The problem is most pronounced in busy metropolitan areas with many airports. Ultimately it is a personal decision of extra nice textures balanced against performance issues.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2, Omega 2.7.90 (4xAA 16xAF)
