Split-Scimitar Winglet Modeling on the NGX?

But, if the P-8 is in fact just a visual modification, with no other changes to the aircraft's systems or performance numbers, does this not set the precedent that PMDG is in fact willing to do just a visual update? Again, just to clarify, I am not in any way attempting to be snarky. Personally, I would love to have the SSW's as an option. Perhaps even as a paid add on pack. I would bet there would be lots of customers willing to pay a fair fee for this "upgrade", even if it is just a visual model update.

Generic Commentary (not directed at Matt, specifically):

People keep using the poor P-8 as a soapbox of "well you did this obscure thing, and only visually" as proof that we somehow acted in a non-standard way. This is usually about various visual updates, and arguments about the MD-11 and DC-6. That needs to stop. Learn the facts (see link above if you're confused), and...bluntly...don't look a gift horse in the mouth

  • We'll see but it would take a change to the flight model too - the whole point of these things is that they add additional fuel savings over the normal winglets.
